AMEX Platinum Charge Benefits - Q&A

That is very odd, mine definitely doesn't mention a refund. Might have to go on chat and see how I go.

Edit: I did find this note on the cancellations page:

so maybe because I have used benefits for this month I am not eligible for a refund.
Cancel the current membership then reapply for an annual subscription for $59. Did that yesterday and Amex refunded the charge straight away.

That's really weird. In my case I'd definitely used the benefits as I order from Amazon on a weekly basis and the amount had definitely been pro-rated as I received $49.56 instead of the full $59.

Maybe the chat could be worth a shot?

Did yours say your membership was going to continue until Jan 24 (or whenever your end date is)? Or did it mention a refund like Dylarr's?

as a platinum holder, we are allowed into the various plaza premium lounges.
would it be fair to use their website and if it appears we can use it?

(its for a supp card holder of mine who doesnt have priority pass)

I believe somewhere on the plaza premium lounge website mentioned that amex Platinum please use this website American Express Global Lounge Collection

I would just use the Amex app. If you go to the Membership tab and select ‘Find a Lounge’, the app will show you all domestic and international lounges you’re able to access with the card. For those that require Priority Pass, they’ll be clearly labelled as requiring enrolment.

Yes. I don't see the issue.

Thanks. This looks like the fool proof option

Has anybody ever experienced a Supp cardholder carrying their own card being refused entry into VA or Cent Lounges?
I recently went on a "boys trip" overseas and gave two of them supp cards so we could all go in the lounge together anf they could also bring guests in certain lounges too. Worked super easy and I even reduced their limit per month to $200 or something in case they lost the card

We have a Delta J flight soon from LAX-LAS. With recent Delta lounge access changes, it seems like they will charge US$50pp for AMEX Platinum access? The Priority Pass in T3 is Gameway with 1 game+snack+pop OR 1 game+alcoholic drink 🤣
I don't think even Elite Plus provides access?

I didn't think these changes applied to Amex Plats issued in Aus?
