How do you find out if they have extended your gold membership on the cathay pacific website?

A good question to which I would be interested to know the answer to myself.

I have looked at the statements (which you can view via your account). The from and to dates appear there.

Would be interested to know if there is somewhere else it can be found.

The renewal has arrived. 12 months to end of January 2015. Just a standard "Welcome to another 12 months" just like last year - no mention of requalification criteria being changed / introduced. If it we not for AFF, then you would assume no changes.

I also received a letter with new Gold card with validity extended until end of Jan 2015 (previously was to end of July 2014) however mine includes the new requirements to re-qualify for Gold (30k miles instead of "standard" 60k) (

Previous expiry was Jan 2014, so this was just a "normal" renewal.

I am sure there will be a letter, probably around end of March or so, advising of new arrangements. What happens after that, who knows. The original arrangement never actually promised renewal, it has always been on a year by year basis.

There is always the possibility of change within the next 12 months - for better or worse.

I for one will be keeping my fingers crossed. September 2014 renewal here. Was planning some travel June 2015. All good for getting two J rewards this year for those dates but was hoping to use the gold status to help me get some more seats off waiting lists closer to date of travel

dropped from gold. Seeing as everyone else has still been comped, I might reapply online rather than call the Amex "customer service".

How do you find out if they have extended your gold membership on the cathay pacific website?

Logon to your account online and on the left hand side you will see an option for Account Balance. Click on that and then you'll see a line that reads Membership Details (DD MMM YYYY - DD MMM YYYY), so that should tell you your membership validity period at that level. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I just checked and mine is renewed for gold for another year. Feb 2014 - Feb 2015. I thought that renewals are only for like 6 months? as per the centurion diamond MPC? So do you think this MPC gold with Plat charge will keep going beyond feb 2015??

The benefit might continue on as a one year only deal for new applicants, but it's hard to know at this stage. I just checked my account online and I've noticed that my MP Gold expiry is now set for 28 Feb 2015 whereas it was set for 31 Aug 2014 previously. I'll expect a letter from Cathay in the post soon.

Got a letter yesterday. Membership extended by another 6 months (through to Feb 2015), however as others have mentioned, now have to do the 30K miles or 20 sectors to maintain.

Hi Guys,

I signed up for AMEX Plat only recently (Jan/Feb 2014). When I signed up, I did have the option to enroll for Marco Polo Gold, which I did and have recieved the Gold card which expires in Feb/Mar 2015. Also when searching for Lounges online, you used to get the list of Cathay Pacific lounges or Oneworld lounges which you could gain access to because of the Gold status.

However, just checked and AMEX lounge search now does not show up and CP or OW lounges, its only PP and Virgin lounges (in Australia). Lets see how my travel is this year and if I can do 30k miles in a year.

Not sure I can just reapply. The link to the form and any reference to the benefit no longer appears on the Amex web site.

Interesting some have been extended to feb 2015 and some not. I do recall the site saying it was a benefit available for sign up till feb 20. Or something like that.

I would be assuming Jan 15 will be your expiration based on info I have been reading on threads

You'll find il be no more.. Pity but flying on QF means id need 40 odd flexi flights to re quality. And I am not sure the red edeals earn for CX either...
