Don't you also get 0% interest rate on purchases for first 6 months?
Gents,
currently have a westpac KF gold card and have seen this current promotion. If I'm sucessful will those 20,000 bonus points turn into 20,000 KF miles? If not what is the transfer rate?
Thanks
the promotion will give you 20k amex points, in which you can then manually transfer them to KF at 1 to 1 . there are also a bunch of other loyalty programs you can transfer to at various ratios.
Interesting.. might look into it a bit further. Is the airfare just upon sign up? Or is it each yeah?
Has anyone got the 20K points yet? How long did you have to wait?
The airfare is each year, upon payment of the annual fee. Pretty sure they have to be used each year, can't be rolled over.
My wife just got mail from her CPA magazine. Amex now has an offer for CPA members CPA Amex Platinum Edge Credit Card, with the following features:
- $99 annual fee
- Choice of enrolling to MR Ascent, or Qantas Direct
- If choosing MR Ascent, then get free domestic flight (none for Qantas direct)
- 3x for supermarkets, 2x for petrol stations, 1x for rest
- If approved and spent $500 by end of December, then get $200 Westfield voucher (ie no 20000 points).
So if you are one of those association members getting those Amex offers, maybe you should wait until your association provide you with new Amex Plat Edge offers.
Amex has same offer for CA members except that members get 20,000 points instead of $200 Westfield voucher.

I spoke with Amex CSR and found out that:
- The CSR told me that they actually booked on Blue Saver fare for the free flight. I checked virgin website, and asked them some specific dates for SYD-ADL, and it seemed that they have plenty of flights available, even when Virginblue.com.au shows the cost of one way up to $189 (normally $119).
e!
Correct me if im wrong but that means with DJ's LCC fare structure you will have to pay both ways for luggage? Guess that adds onto the annual fee if you need baggage and want to 'value' the offer.
How annoying... you think a premium offering like Amex would cover baggage.

23Kg baggage is included for the redemption, also there are no taxes to pay.
Great, so do Amex pay the Virgin Blue baggage fines when you redeem?
I still think they will be offering fee free for the first year soon though as the credit card market continues to heat up
Yes it is. It became available with the change from Qantas to Virgin Blue.
