AMEX Platinum Edge Referral bonus

Ok, so that's better. Let me see if I got it right: as long as you haven't had a native Amex (not a bank Amex) in the last 12 months, you qualify for one enrollment bonus, be it 10000 Velocity points with the Escape Amex, or 10000 Membership Rewards points with the Platinum Edge referral. Correct, yes?

Yes correct. :) Some AFF'ers have stated they have managed the bonus whilst still holding Amex issued cards of a different variety. eg: Holding a Platinum and apply for a Discovery and still managed a bonus.

yes .. i held a velocity amex and got 10k bonus when i took up a platinum edge. ... dunno whether pure luck or not!

I have a Corporate Green card and also still received the bonus when I applied for the Platinum Edge.

Each time I and SWMBO have changed cards, we've received the bonus (despite holding other Amex issued cards).

Note that YMMV.

Hi there,

If I hold a DJ Amex and a Bank Issued Amex, what are the chances I will still get the 10k points?

I applied a couple of weeks ago and was approved for platinum edge and have received bonus from referral even though it hasn't been a year since I cancelled my other amex card. Seems like you get it no matter what. If anyone wants a referral link for 10000 points and free annual fee pm me.
Cheers

Disregard referral link above - as a new member I am unable to Use PM I have discovered

Anyone knows it will actually work if:

1) I click Apply from a link through the Engineers Australia (partnersAmex link), $149 p.a and 35k points. Tried a dummy fill up of details and didn't ask for EA membership details, do they cross check afterwards?
or
2) I get an EA membership first since I'm an Eng Grad $60 fee (though I'm not working in the industry), then apply for the card? Will they cancel the card after a year if I don't renew EA membership?

Stupid question I'm sure, but where do I find/generate my AMEX PE referral code? Can't see anything on the website.
