Have had CBA Diamond AMEX and MC for the past year with the first annual fee waived - have just been advised as of 2 weeks ago diamond now covered under Wealth Package.

Cheers

That's awesome. I'll try them today. I asked a few months back and was told that I'd get an invite in 3-4 months time

No it hasn't... unless by 'some time' you mean 1-2 months.

Thanks to Alex-au for the heads up.

Agree ... if we are talking about Wealth Package. Only since start of December according to my relationship banker. Others, with other CBA relationships (eg Private Client) probably had no fees for longer.

That sounds good, I had to pay 50% of the annual fee

I called CBA the day before Christmas Eve when I read about the Amex Diamond would be eligible for the new SYD lounge (2 invitations only thou), the lady over the phone told me since I am on the wealth package, it will be free for me to upgrade from Platinum to Diamond for the whole time my loan is still active. So I guess my only concern is what will happen after 15-20 years, or I'm too early to worry about it now...

I've had the card for years and I'm only paying $119/year. I was thinking about cancelling it and picking up a AMEX Platinum Edge. Considering the fees are low, is it worth keeping just for the lounge access in Sydney Airport?

I usually fly with CX, so looking something to help me earn points there or should I consider moving across to QF, VA or SQ?

With the changes announced by RBA today, I'd probably just hang-tight for a bit. I suspect there's going to be substantial (negative) changes to points earning across all the "premium" cards, and getting hits on your credit report for cards that might become worthless probably isn't worth it.

Though it might also be the last chance to pick up some significant sign on bonuses as well

I've had a Diamond Master card and Amex card since they were first issued and have never been asked to pay an annual fee. Not entirely sure why this is, but the card it replaced was also fee free. I'll let sleeping dogs lie on this one.

However, I also have a CBA Gold Visa card and have just been hit with a $30 annual fee for the privilege of being able to transfer points to the Qantas FF scheme. Had I realised this was going to happen I would have told them to transfer the points to the CBA Awards scheme instead, but now the fee has been "processed" the CBA refuses to consider refunding the fee even if the card was to be immediately severed from the Qantas program. So I seem to be stuck with this cost for another 12 months.

I don't need this expensive facility as I have a fee-free Amex card with Qantas FF connectivity. Not impressed CBA!

Applied for Platinum Award Card sometime ago via the special offer of 40,000 bonus points and refund of annual fees with the condition of activated by 5 Jan 2016..

Just received the card today! So does that means I miss out on both counts, no bonus points and paying the full $249 fees?

Any suggestion of my next move? Return the card? Complain of their delays?

Nup spend $500....
90 days before $249 refunded and bonus points come later
That's what I expect as same time line on this card for me!

Applied for Diamond cards yesterday 530pm aest. No previous cba cards. We have a cba mortgage so I thought I may as well take it while it's free and has a bonus.

No immediate approval given ("application pending"). Payslips uploaded as requested. Website says they'll make a decision within 4 to 7 days.
