Received my statement last Friday showing the Annual Fee
Rang up today and asked to cancel the card, citing Annual Fee.
No Fee waiver offered, so I cancelled it.
May reapply in a couple of months and get the 16,000 QFF points.
Probably only put about $5k and $10K Tax on it last year.
Move On.
I should have done this sooner - called to request for annual fee to be waived (without threat of cancelling the card) and it was granted!
Actually, tried that first before the HUACA will try again next month when its a little more urgent and I will actually canceldon't ask for it to be waived, just firmly request the payout figure.
My annual fee has been waived for 3 years. I called yesterday to request a payout figure and the lady didn't mention anything about waiving the annual fee. And today I give it a try again, the guy is rude. I would like to know whether the payout figure includes the annual fee. The reason why I wanna cancel the card is because of the annual fee. If I need to pay the annual fee in the payout figure, why I need to cancel the card? What the guy said I have to pay the annual fee no matter I cancel the card...???!!!
I rang today and asked them to cancel, they wanted to know why and I of course said I hardly ever use the card and cant justify the fee. Their response was that they would "review" to see if they could offer me an annual fee waiver but wont get back until after the fee is due to be charged! No thanks!Any recent successes getting BT offers? 2 years ago I got a 1.99% offer as an incentive to keep it.
At the start of last year I had my annual fee waived happily without issue.
Last year in December got charged the annual fee again and called up to see if I could get it waived. I got the reply that it wasn't a year since my last waiver so call back in January. Dutifully called back in January and was told I would not be able to get a waiver. I asked if I could please cancel my card and have the annual fee refunded, I was told no it will not be refunded (not even pro rata) as I had already used the card since December constituting an intention to use the card. After a lot of discussion they would not budge on this
Have had the card for just under a year....rang up and asked whether they would waive the annual fee due shortly...he looked up my account details, and said because I was such a good customer blah, blah... ie I paid my account (in full every month), he would waive the fee. no threats of cancelling etc were made .....
May I ask.....: "Which Bank"?
