Annual NZ Dinner: AKL 8 March 2025

This afternoon I looked up MCY. It is not shutting down. And there is an MCY - AKL flight at 0800 tomorrow. Could be full as QF did not offer it as an option. Possibly though thought MCY would close.

A good sunrise to kick off the flights for the day

Hubbed at the Qantas club in Adelaide lots of canceled Brisbane flights
QF674 to Melb is late so a packed Club
QF678 likely to depart a mere 20 minutes later

Starting my journey as usual at HBAand I am amazed to see new premium seating in the gate lounge area.

Just a few, but replacing one of the wooden benches they’ve had for years

And the QP gasp has been a makeover. Pot plants and a couple of new chairs.

It’s a pretty nice day here at Cambridge; view from the QP.

Well, unsurprisingly my QF120 to BNE on Sunday morning has been cancelled. Waiting on news of my alternative options. Already clued up my boss that getting home on Sunday could be…. tricky.

And the usual premium boarding experience
Can’t they just keep everyone in the terminal for a few more mins??

Landed in Melbourne and rolling onto the DOM gate !
Of course INT Is pretty close so will head across there ONCE we disembark !
Hopefully find Doug along the way !

Can’t they just keep everyone in the terminal for a few more mins??
They usually do but if there is a long delay, the small gate area becomes a scrum.

So in this case they let us out as far as the cattle run. Then they inched us forward to the bottom of the boarding ramp.

At one stage they called at the front of the tarmac queue for the rows 14 back to board via the rear stairs . But of course zone boarding …. 😊

A delay of 10 mins or so happens every flight for this reason. The airport owners have said Hobart will “never” get air bridges

Just ask for Jessica. 😉
