Annual NZ Dinner: AKL 8 March 2025

There were a few knock-on delays to the QF network this morning, but nothing major. My QF143 was delayed by an hour, as was QF149; I can see a few 738s parked on the Int apron. (refos ex BNE)

Sydney Airport cannot manage F/J queues, but apart from that, their new renovation is easier on the eye and is running smoothly. I just finished breakfast in the Lounge.

Whew. Just reached the Pullman at the airport at 11:30 pm.
Didn’t realize you were here - I’m at the Pullman AKL too!

I was on the last flight though, so I arrived at 1.30am.

I was thinking the exact same thing last night! Luckily my flight was 2/3rds full so the zoo was contained.

Given the lounge breakky photo and the reference to renovation I suspect F/J related to departure security more than flight boarding.

Can confirm that you can get into the f lounge when flying LA on a QF codeshare. No issue bringing in a guest. However, note that QF des not pipe the boarding notification for this flight so pay attention to the board - I don't think I was the last onboard but definitely cutting it fine as when I looked up it was "final call"!

I'm not sure if there's been an equipment swap or if Latam always does 2-2-2 for its AKL flights but I was offered 4h (centre aisle) from 4c (window) as someone was in 4a - I suppose the benefit is I don't have to step over anyone.

Now waiting for pushback. Should hopefully be a quick flight over.

They were 2-2-2 when I flew that route last year. I think it’s lucky dip.
