Seems there a major Turf Horse racing event at Ellerslie today - may explain the high accommodation costs.

Also, the area around here was jumping earlier - the 4.8K PAX "Ovation Of The Seas" has recently departed. There a cruise liner "Viking Orion" in port (only 980 PAX).

Chris Stapleton is at Spark Arena tonight - I saw the signs from the train today as it passed before diving into Britomart.

The venue can seat "13000+" patrons.

Great to catch up a lot of old friends last night. Here at AKL ant 7am, absolutely no one at immigration, no pax at security and only a couple of people in the AKL first lounge. (of which I think the disparaging comments are unfair. It’s easily just as big as the HBA QP, although it lacks a sandwich toaster)
