Apologies for the delay here, looking at three options all for that weekend and some of the logisitcal senarios are taking longer to run through than I thought.
Saturday evening run maybe even behind steam.
Sunday day return along the south coast.
Or of our epic one day trips to Canberra.

Matt

Any of those are fine with us.
Saturday evening run - we would prob look at getting accommodation in Sydney for the night. (unless I am tenant-less, but I don't want that !! )

Hi BAM1748 - looks like great fun! I'm relatively new to AFF so very keen to come and meet some fellow AFF's if this goes ahead and there is space. Cheers :D

It's been longer than I would've liked.

Plan which has been requested.
Saturday Dec 5, Depart Sydney Terminal 1.30pm.
Afternoon run to Gosford where we will reverse direction and head back and stable at Hawkesbury River Station for around 3 hours for dinner, it is directly opposite the Anglers Rest pub and a couple of small eateries.
Return to Sydney Terminal around 10.30pm.

I have spoken to the owner of 5917 who is making the locomotive available as a personal favour for the Sydney to Gosford part of the trip. (fire bans could mean a substitute)

The BAMs will be moved up from Goulburn empty early that morning, if anyone from the area or Canberra want to ride up shouldn't be a problem, following the trip the cars will return to Goulburn so should also be ok to ride back, it will be a long day for those people. I will probably get on and off in Bowral both directions (where I live) others welcome to use Bowral if convenient.

As usual, I will come around on the day for a cash donation for a worthy Christmas cause such as Vinnies.

I am somewhat concerned about the bridge supporting the weight of the additional bottles :-)

But in all seriousness, many thanks to BAM for his generous offer

Sorry we can't make it now. Something we do every year which is usually later in the month is on the 5th this year. Would have really enjoyed being behind 5917 on the Cowan bank.

I usually suggest the Rendezous Sydney Central or the Metro Hotel on Pitt Street as good economic clean places to stay near the station, both within a block walk.

I return from Thailand on 03 December and in Sydney for a few days before going back to work.

Would be interested in attending. Is there a cap on numbers?

I am in Sydney on 5 and 6 December. Having seen the Canberra trip off at Central last year I am interested in attending the trip to Gosford and back, or down the south coast, if either goes ahead.

Depart 12.54
Arr Gosford 14.26 (loco turn and service)
Depart Gosford 15.24
Arrive Hawkesbury River 15.47

Yes, built by Baldwin Lima in Ohio, known as a Mikado because of it's wheel arrangement 2-8-2, two wheels on the pony truck, 8 driving wheels and 2 wheels on the trailing truck.

We had a run behind it a few weeks ago celebrating 160 years of railways in NSW. Had my first trip behind 5910 about 45 years ago.
