Another double SC promo already?

I got the Virgin double SC offer (already requalified Plat and crediting to wife at present). My daughter (Qantas Plat) got the Qantas double SC offer, but not me. I would have liked to have both airlines offering me double SCs as all my daughter's Qantas travel for the year is already booked so her double SC offer will basically go to waste, but c'est la vie. I'll just work as best I can with what we have received.

Excitement!

"...on offer for eligible Qantas flights"

:-|

Wrong way round universe! Got close to no chance of hitting status on QFF owing to 9/10 work flights being through VA. Oh well, better than nothing I guess.

I'm Silver w/ VA and didn't get the offer. Y+ to LAX coming up, would have come in handy.

I did get the Qantas offer, not that that's any use to me. I'd sooner walk.

FWIW: I got the double SC offer this time around. BIS plat, currently on about 1900 SC's since August and 3000 in last year or so. I've been gold with Virgin for about 3-4 years. So it's not just targeting the status matched this time around.

Yeah, this seems totally random. I didn't get the double SC offer (and I'm struggling to requal..)

Late question. Do you need to register for this? I see it is noted on my statement email but I can't find the original email.

^You have been specially selected for this offer and it is non-transferable. To earn double Status Credits, members must book and fly on a Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight between 27 March and 30 June 2012 inclusive. Single or return sectors qualify, and can be flown in either direction. Flights must be booked in a fare class that is normally eligible for Status Credits accrual. Double Status Credits will be awarded based on originally purchased fare class, and any complimentary upgrades will not result in additional Status Credits. Flights purchased as part of a Blue Holidays package will earn Velocity Points at the standard Blue Holidays Points earn rate and are not eligible to earn Status Credits.

And, if it helps in your search, my email was 26 March.

Thanks. I've got the note on the statement email. I'll have a better search around the 26th.

Hey all you Virgin experts out there can you help me with a query please.

Purchased 2 x flexi Y MEL-SYD-PER ret and used 4 x comp upgrades to J - flts purchased and used during 2 x SC promo period.

How many VFF pts and SC's should each of us expect to receive?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on how the MEL-SYD-PER was booked. If it's on a formal connection it will be 40SC * 2 = 80SC. If they are booked separately, it will be (40+20) * 2 = 120SC.

Points are based on how much you paid, and your status level.

It depends on how you booked it. If as MEL-PER then that's what you will earn. You shouldn't get business SC for the upgrade.

Plat and booked MEL-PER.
Yep, effectively four comp upgrades for 8 segments in total - each PER/MEL uses one comp. upgrade, even if over two segments, so it only stands tor reason crediting will be for MEL/PER direct.

Dont believe I got an email.
Matched Plat with under 100 SCs, but likely to be doing quite a bit of domestic in the next few months so would help on the renewal front.

Is there a generic link from which you can check registration (like the QF one)??

EDIT:: On scanning gmail account, I found it from 27 March.
Having requaled QF Plat for this yr with no chance if PlatPlus or PlatOne (particularly without a QF offer, pretty simple choice)

Someone mentioned early on this thread that any flight with a VA flight number would be eligible. I'm looking to go MEL-SIN in June, given that this would be on SQ, would it still be entitled to double SC's?

NO ! Code shares are not eligible. I flew to NZ on a VA flight number but an Air NZ flight and no SC's. When I called to follow up I was told the flight isn't eligible. Given I planned especially to get the double SC's and could easily have flown at a less conveinient later flight and paid less, this was pretty disappointing. Don't make the same mistake.

No, the T's & C's for the offer state that to earn the bonus it must be on flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia so no good on a code share.

Reminder: This ends Saturday 30 June.

I'm tipping there will be another double SC promo sometime soon...... they've been pretty much back to back since late last year. Albeit, some for all and some targeted campaigns.
