Another explore gold (Flybuys) offer

To have the wrong airline bookings seems to be my fate. The Explore Gold offer came at an awkward time for me. I have already got JQ and Q flights booked for my holidays in July and now have to look at making some Virgin flights but before September 9, not when I wanted to do them which would have been October (grrrr...). I don't think there is any way round this because you actually have to take the flights before the nominated date to get the status credits.
 
Can someone who received the explore gold offer email please let me know what the subject line is?
I want to set up an alert on Mrs Deva's email to let me know if/when she gets the offer.
 
Mine was from Fly Buys and said:
"Experience the Virgin Australia lounge and many other Velocity gold benefits!"

Got mine in March and didn't do anything about it but I've been upgraded to gold. Might be as I accepted an offer to transfer all my FB balance to Velocity with 15% bonus with the 139k annual cap being waived for the promo.

10/3/17: "Only 48 hours left to apply for Explore Gold"


So as you can see they aren't consistent. All of these came from the address [email protected]

Perhaps that from address + the words "Velocity Gold" or "Explore Gold" in the subject line would do it?

Thanks guys, that's just the info I was after. Yep I'll go for from:[email protected] and "gold" I think.
 
I have not seen any emails from Flybuys, but when I login to Flybuys account and click offers there it is. If I get a Coles Rewards Mastercard by 31 August I will also get Explore gold.
 
Can I check others' experience of having paid lounge membership refunded when explore gold is granted? My membership is financial year as it is a corporate scheme. I paid up in mid June and then one week later received the explore gold offer. At the time I had a flight for me and my partner that would give me the 80 SCs. I would otherwise not have received gold status as I do not fly enough to achieve 500SCs. So, I'm grateful for the opportunity but keen to see if I can get a refund.

I contacted the lounge membership area and was told that no refunds or extensions are possible under the T&Cs. So, I'm left with the situation that I will have paid for membership which because of their explore gold offer I will not need. I can understand a strict application when a person buys membership and books flights that take them over. In this case I had no idea I would get explore gold. Am I wasting my time pursuing this or have others had success?

2 of my colleagues received refunds on their paid lounge membership (pro rata) when they achieved gold. They got it the old fashion way though, not through explore gold...

I understand how things generally work, but I was surprised that an "unearnt" promotion also qualified me for a soft landing-I fully expected to just drop back to red

If it goes through the same process (which I suspect it would) to upgrade to Explore, probably not. Those seem to take around 3 weeks, sometimes a little quicker.

I'm looking at this same promo, it says that it will take up to 2 weeks to post the flybuys points and then up to another 4 to get explore gold

I'm borderline on applying for my flight on 11 Aug
 
I applied for the card on 19 June (the day the email offer came out). Received the card on 26 June and the 20,000 flybuys points posted 3 July. Still have not received Explore Gold (7 days since flybuys points posted).
