You can still book ex NZ and get the 10% discounted prices. (NZD3420 for a LONE4)

In any case, it is showing: Qantas ? flights to Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Book airfares, hotels, cars, travel insurance and hol

That seems very low. Qantas is showing AUD4 687 for a LONE4 (though this includes taxes and fees. Book - Flights - Multi-Stop Flights - Oneworld Explorer

Attractively low, in fact. I was planning on making a stop in Auckland on my next flight anyway.

Serfty my booking was made and paid by August 19th...Does that mean I am entitled to a refund if I change my first flight as danger has done ?

It's a complete case of YMMV.

You'd have to approach it as a need to change the first segment. Since not originating from TC1 (Americas) this should invoke a re-issue and recalculation with no penalties. This should result in a refund. Don't just indicate you want the cheaper price as then they could cancel and re-book - this could invoke the 5(.5)% or 10(/11)% penalty clause.

Thanks serfty I really appreciate you help and information and will work with the TA tomorrow and report back BUT after lengthy chats to the supervisor at the Qantas premium desk have been advised that a reissue and refund will not happen because the reissue will be based on the purchase privce and not the sale price, but I am prepared to persue this as far as I can...Thanks again and will report back soon.

I was over the moon when saw the 10% promo banner on the Qantas site earlier this week. I have been planning a RTW trip in Feb/Mar 2010 for a while now.

Fellow AFFer's had given me inspiration I can indeed afford a fly business RTW by repositioning a DONE. But with the price hikes for S. Korea & Indonesia this year, I was starting think a DONE was out of reach and LONE it is. This 10% discount plus a strong AUD is all i need yay! :D

The best value LONES seems to be:

Asia
  • Pakistan - 480,070 PKR / 6,865 AUD
  • India - 324,315 INR / 7,939 AUD
  • Bangladesh - 6,630 USD / 7,875 AUD
  • Sri Lanka - 761,000 LKR / 7,876 AUD
  • More accessible locations: Indonesia / Vietnam / Philipines are approx 7,500 USD/8,900 AUD
Europe/Middle East/N Africa
  • Sweden - 44,550 SEK / 7,443 AUD
  • Poland - 18,000 PLN / 7,477 AUD
  • Jordan - 4.590 JOD / 7,700 AUD
Purely on price, getting either a points flight (with CX via HKG) to Karachi seems the go - anyone had any thoughts or experience with Karachi/Pakistan?

Though a start in Europe is better for my itinerary: Eur-StAm-NtAm-Asia-Eur, as ideally i want do Sth America before Nth America, So a trip to Stockholm may be on the menu, but taxes seem are high with BA. Then again a LONE out of NZ is fantastic value, with no need to burn too many QFF points

Good luck to those who have booked ONEs are trying change Itinerary to get the 10% discount.

This has worked out very nicely for me. I have 2 major congresses that I would like to attend next year: one in Barcelona in June, the other in Orlando in December. I had already mapped out an AONE4 with other bits and bobs to achieve my requirements:

June:
BNE-SYD-LHR-BCN-LHR-JFK-LAX (AONE4)
LAX-SYD (F Award)
SYD-BNE (Paid)

Dec:
BNE-SYD (Paid)
SYD-LAX (F Award)
LAX-DFW-MCO-DFW-JFK-HKG-SIN-MEL-BNE (Resumption of AONE4)

I had already snaffled the LAX-SYD award. My initial intention was to wait until early January once all flights could be booked on correct dates. But with the 10% discount, the total cost of the AONE4 is $14,923.54, which is an outstanding price. So, I have parked & paid for the routing - the December flights will clearly need to be adjusted once available.

I have (stupidly) paid similar prices for return point-to-point J tickets, in the past.
