There were quite steep rocky slopes under the hut and one poor penguin slid down the slope and toppled beak first into the snow - no picture unfortunately but Ms FM and I were in hysterics.

In the afternoon we went for a zodiac ride in the Skontorp Cove/Paradise Bay area. We saw our first other ship - a National Geographic ship, visiting an Argentinian Base. Apparently this is a grey area. Strictly speaking you bid for places you want to visit and no two ships should be there at the same time. However if a base extends an invitation to visit you can get round this (although there was a bit of gritted teeth about this and clearly they thought it shouldn't happen)20190113- Ant-11.jpg

Loved our visit to the Italian Zucchelli in Terra Nova Bay. It would be such an amazing experience. If only I had a required skill other than enthusiasm! Loving the photos fm.

i was lucky enough to have two talented photographers this time. Mr FM is quite good, but he had backup from our son-in-law. He has quite an artists eye.

So I nagged Mr FM into taking me for a drive. We went via as many roundabouts and curvy bits as we could. I read my book and started feeling queasy. Put the magic glasses on and carried on reading, stomach settled. After 10 minutes I took them off and carried on reading with no return of queasy feeling.

I am trying to talk Ms FM into trying them, but she just laughed at me.

It was just a small experiment, but certainly worked for me.

I am glad to hear they worked for you. I'll have to look into them. If I could sort out my seasickness, then it opens up more opportunities for holidays. At the moment I've just avoided boats if I can which is sort of limiting. I too get ill when reading in cars, so knowing that you felt better after wearing them for a bit gives me hope.

I am happy for you to borrow a pair and try them out -PM me if you want to.

I never read in cars for this reason but I don’t get seasick.

Mr FM discovered he had some nice photos from the Zodiac cruise around Skontorp Cove. One of the crazy Expedition crew handed around a big lump of ice in his bare hands, so we could listen to the ice popping from air bubbles20190113- Ant-280.jpg
