   Snigger, snigger...........

What an afternoon..............Trying out priority access/screening, meeting a couple of interesting AFFers (sorry kevrosmith for not having more time to chat), scoring a J seat and J SCs (hopefully) on a PE fare, getting the great new BSI ambience, having a late lunch of mushroom soup, turkey/swiss cheese/tomato sandwiches all washed down with Moet, priority boarding (which did actually work a treat), followed by a three course dinner of pumpkin soup, ham and cheese wrap and followed up with an O'Leary Walker Chardonnay and cheese and crackers and a casual chat with the pilot.

I heard a word this afternoon I didn't understand......QANTAS. What's a Qantas. I feel I should know............ but have forgotten.

Hi DJ-1D, Thanks for a top afternoon!

I should point out the photo above of my dinner tray, was with DJ-1Ds seat reclined (I was in 2D), tray table out and my gut didn't even make the photo.....now that's room! :D

I'm assuming they're the only two people running the Amex stand in there! I feel like I'm almost on first name terms.

It was a lot of fun hanging out with you as well. Though I feel we've let down the team by not taking more pics...

Oh, you wanted photos of the plane.........and I thought you wanted the Moet (I did)!

Sorry, would have been rude to interupt the pilot to take photos.......mind you, the crew had to interupt him to remind him we had to land at some point that evening .

Here's some pics for you though, oh, your pics

Hahaha i know , but i like real people taking them if that makes sense, like those ones are all edited and stuff.

Won't it be great when the business class is formally introduced and you get the works?

If anyone is there now let me know. Will be there in about half an hour. :)

Great pic's guys! Any pic's of the interior?

Those pic's are great! Those new business class seats look to die for! I laughed when i saw business class on a qf 73-400 and this. Gotta love row 3 ;)

I really think you should compare apples with apples. The 737-400 seats are not the norm..

How about we compare them to the skybeds in the A380??

I have to agree, however I don't think QF should market the seats in question (737-400) as J however as they are more like Virgin's PE which is being phased out. But who cares soon we will have phased out PE and pretty J, and phased out 737-400s and pretty 737-800s :D

Bloody great flight! Seats are fantasticOnly thing lacking was the IFE. But sure something good is coming soon...
I did a east coast Perth trip on the QF 330 and the IFE was great. Virgin need to address this if they need to be considered serious competition after this initial flash evaporates of their new product. Good to see Virgin product pushing QF here.

Well I must be the odd one out, I like the 734s, the seats are comfy in J and the planes are reliable, and that's from someone who has a few hours in them (thanks to JASAs) each month. I also like Row 4 in QF on either 73x, it's predictable in terms of getting it on QF as a WP versus the 4 in 50 chance on DJ to get a BSI aircraft then the 1 in 20 odds to actually score Row 3 as a DJ Gold.

Hey Markis, that's a great point except the BSI seat configurations are theoretically becoming the norm over the coming months. So your 4 in 50 goes out the window a bit. I was pre-allocated 3D and I'm only silver, so the 1 in 20 seems less a problem just now, too! ;)

I wonder what the ratio is with DJ gold to non-gold as a realitive measure?

Its the current situation as I see it, and I did not adjust the odds by taking the E190s into consideration which have no Row 3 advantage (I had an E190 back to SYD last night from MEL), of course they will get better as DJ get the interior redone but at the same time so will QF, as their new 738s come on board. The difference is not only the equipment, but recognising and rewarding the more frequent fliers, QF have this licked when it comes to seat selection at present, while DJ still have a long way to go as evidenced by complaints by DJ Gold members on this very forum.

Thought I'd give this a bump to see if any other AFFers will be in the lounge tonight? I'm heading over there around 5:30pm if anyone wants to meet up.

Cheers,
DJ 1D

Hi DJ 1D,
I depart to BNE at 19:00 and will be over some time. What time do you depart? How much do you know about AA and NAN status runs? I'm keen to get some info from some in the know.

My flight's at 7pm to OOL. Happy to meet you there. I'll post when I'm in the lounge.

Cheers,
DJ 1D
