Anyone else seeing Zero Classic Reward seats on Qantas Site from SYD-DXB in early 2023

I can't get this to work. ☹️ SYD-DXB-MCT for example throws up an HTTP 400 error. So does SYD-DXB and SYD-MCT.
I am getting the exact same error SYD-DXB-CAI throws the same http 400 error. If I do SYD-CAI I am forced to fly with Qatar Air via Doha which I don't want to do. Has anyone confirmed if this is a bug with the Qantas site?

Same - the booking engine gives me QR flight options where QR serves the city pairs, but just does not show any options on EK (even though I know EK flies those city pairs).

Do you have an example of a particular date/s that you're looking for?

My specific date(s) are around April - Syd-DXB 8 April and then DXB-CAI 9 April and CAI-SYD 23 April

Having said that I have tried any date in Feb-April and there are no EK Flights from Syd-DXB or I get a random error via Multi City Search.

There is almost no availability on EK to and from Australia. Premium cabins have been gone for months, but the removal of even Y seats is entirely new.

Clearly, EK has made a decision to pull these awards to generate cash.

I don't believe all availability has been pulled, however, as there are premium awards from DXB to other ports.

I started searching for premium cabins from 330+ days out but the complete removal of Y seats for anything in 2023 is strange and I have yet to contact Qantas Customer Service to determine if that is indeed the case. Nothing publicly has been mentioned either on the matter.

I don't believe the standard release days apply and haven't since Covid.

I've been checking routes daily for EK. Even when they added the additional flights, no awards in premium cabins were loaded.

The only way to secure premium cabins is to either pay cash, or pay for a lower class and use Skyward miles or cash to upgrade. Both have to be EK ticket stock.

Yeah, I just had a look and the issue seems to be that EK has released no award availability to partner airlines.

Other frequent flyer programs including JAL Mileage Bank also see zero availability to/from SYD around those dates.

There is plenty of availability on other routes to/from DXB though which QFF members can see, e.g. DXB-CAI on 9 April shows 3 flights available in Y, J or F. Just nothing to/from Australia.

That exactly what I found. You can get to Dubai from EU/UK/SE Asia but not from Dubai to any Aus port. Incredibly frustrating.

Has anyone called Qantas? I would call if I didn't have to wait for over an hour to then most likely get cut off in between 😁

I have been trying almost daily to see if I can book Sydney to Dubai with Emirates anytime next year (Jan through to April) and it keeps coming back saying zero availability for any class of seats. I have tried doing a direct search and utilising the multi city search.

It's like Qantas/Emirates are not or have not released any seats in 2023 or they have all been snapped up!

The below error/warning is what I keep getting

I've been trying to get tickets from DXB/SYD in Oct 22 in any class with a simple one-way search since 355 days out. Either very poor availability from Qantas/partners or something fishy is going on...

I have also been trying to book FF fares outbound and inbound through Dubai and also Doha in April and May 2023 - no problems with Economy, but nothing in business - and of course you can only get a response if you tick you want a classic award. I am also a Emirates member with miles available, and on Emirates it shows award fares available, and I contacted them to see if I could use a combination of Qantas and Emirates points but they said I would have to go through Qantas FF. I then tried Qatar but they have a similar response but I understand they are starting a relationship with Virgin from July so maybe they are splitting from Qantas. I am hoping that Emirates do start to release more seats because it is normally 330 days when they traditionally launched them. The other issue is that if you can get to a hub using a Star Alliance combo, the Qantas website does not allow award bookings online if it does not have an Australian origin.
Overall, not happy as I would actually like to use my Qantas points before i am too much older.

Not sure what the above statement refers to.

I'm seeing Biz and First availability on EK in May 2023

Why not use QFF points to go MEL/SYD>SIN/KUL>DXB, or QFF points MEL/SYD>SIN/KUL and EK points SIN/KUL>DXB with a stopover in SIN/KUL? Or CMB?

There's availability from other origins outside of Australia. But there is ZERO availability across all classes from Sydney or Melbourne to Dubai. That's the issue at the moment.
Yep, I was responding to that particular statement: "the Qantas website does not allow award bookings online if it does not have an Australian origin."
