Hmm apparently it will go through if i select the very first flight of the day from melb the 6:45am, but considering i'm going to have to stay in a hotel in melb overnight i really dont want to get up and to the airport at 5am when there is a host of flights throughout the day

Book it online with the flight offered and then call Qf and explain the limitation and they will change your flight (assuming MCT is met). Alternatively, call them and read back the flights and explain the issue.

I'm having trouble, there are no flights where I want to go........sorry I couldn't help it. :)

I had a similar issue. Apparently Emirates points are being calculated correctly, cheaper than what they should be! You might even notice this between your final flight selection to the payment page. If you call they will book them for you at the correct points rate.

And I'm just curious, how to make the systems of different online airline ticket services to see my American Emirates points? Maybe someone already know how to make it, if it's possible? For example, here is a great online platform ( url: airbusinessclass.com ), where I always prefer to order my tickets, but on what step should I tell the system that I have certain points on any airline operator?

Hi arthur3NZ,

I'm not 100% certain of what you're asking but I'll hazard a guess that you are asking if its at all possible to mix purchases on 3rd party travel sites (such as airbusinessclass.com) with cash and points - correct?

As far as I'm aware, this is not possible. If you are looking to redeem points against a flight you generally need to do so on the airline's Frequent Flyer site, not 3rd party travel sites - although you can usually earn points when booking cash fares on such sites.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

BD

Yeah this seems like a thinly veiled attempt to push this website - a mileage broker no less - to me.

However taken at face value while your post is rather confused I'll say No. You do not tell them any FF details.

This lot sells mileage tickets. You would not earn on any ticket procured through such a site.

Now it may well be that if one did obtain a ticket through such a site, say on QF (given this forum) and one had oneworld elite status (or EK I guess as Emirates is mentioned above) that they wanted to use for things like lounge access or the like, then once the booking would be confirmed and provided one could then add the FF# to the booking I presume.

However I would be very wary of any such broker as a general principle

see this blog post for more info:

Thanks for the clarification on the type of service they offer - I did not realise such a site existed.
The article you've linked answers my immediate question on the legality of such a site with respect to QFF's T&Cs ... enough said!

I had exactly this issue yesterday, so it hasn’t been fixed yet. Sadly it means a call to QF and the now standard 1 hour on hold. Sigh 😤

Apologies if not the right thread to ask this - BUT - recently I could see availability on EK metal to book F rdpt via QF web site right up til 30/06/2021 - but zero availability showing in July 2021 - any clues as to why?

It is entirely likely EK have not come close to working out their schedules for 9 or so months time, let alone releasing award space. Just keep an eye on it.

If it is really worrying you I'd call QFF and ask if THEY can see anything.. but I highly suspect it is just that nobody can truly confirm what will fly next month, three months from now let alone mid next year.

Been monitoring every day on some EK and QR route for Aug 2021. back in July I could see July21 availability.

But now in Sept some awards routes completely disappeared.

However, in the last two days EK routes did start to appear. QR still nothing though.

All these QR flights exist via a paid ticket, just no awards for entire Aug. Keen to understand what's happening too.

I followed June availability daily and watched day after day as rdpt availability was released from mid June right up to June 30 - but just nothing from July 1 - no biggie if they rear their head they do if not I guess we shell out for comm tix :p

I'm also looking for Aug 2021 and can't see anything. I did however manage to get good seats for April. Q suites from Melbourne if the borders actually open!

Who knows what COVID will do to award availability, but EK seats via QF usually stopped showing over northern hemisphere summer. They usually start showing again for September.

Lots of EK and QR availability and some CX between East Coast and Europe now. Just booked some EK via the BNE-DXB direct which is quite often hard to find for more than 1 pax. Now, whether the flights are actually going and we can travel to EUR..... who knows. But at least QF are offering a free refund/cancellation until end of Jan.

Is it still too early to use Award flights on 16 sectors? Is Business class up to pre pandemic standards? Is it still too difficult working out an itinerary for a bronze member with lots of points? I need to travel with my wife which is difficult in terms of getting two award seats together in business. thanks in advance
