Anytime Lounge Access Finishing? [Yes, from 15Aug12]

It's a really, really good point. My 12-year-old daughter has been flying with me ever since she could walk. Now she always asks 'Are we going to the Lounge first?'. Although her current fascination are the widebody jets, the opposite to your young bloke.

My kids are the same, although they are always asking if we are going to the First Class Lounge prior to boarding any flight, so the DJ Lounge doesn't quite cut it with them  :p

ROFL!!!

Same here, when the question arises in regards to connector flight times to SYD. MissD looks forward to the day when she can finally access the spa.

Could be worse! They could be saying are we going First Class ;) ......DJ or VA just doesn't cut it at all:!:

Doesn't say anywhere that it must be the members boarding pass, only "A Boarding pass for travel on the day".........hmmmmmmmm I have an Idea :)

T2? Where? PER?

I assume SYD. We've been hypothesising that said lounge will be improved - even multi-story - for a while now, right?

I wonder when VA will start a lounge at T1.

Argh come on - that's being too tricky for my liking! :-|

So....with all the freeloaders now kicked out....does this mean there will be money left to improve the current lounge catering options?

I've for one had enough Arabic feasts, chickpeas, cold salads and sliced meats.

On the bright side however, DJ is building a new SYD T1 lounge and improving the T2 lounge - so I guess there is always a trade off
You've not spent any time in the QP's then recently. It's the same fare in there. I dare say unless QF improve theirs, DJ won't go out of their way (especially with removal of ATA showing they're obviously not keen on being ahead of QF with their offerings).

... members have been able to access the lounge when your guest is departing on VA - maybe this will still apply?
By 'members' do you mean a red/silver velocity member with a paid lounge membership?

If so, you might be onto something there! If that's the case it would placate my whinge about removal of ATA completely, as I only ever used it to drop off family that were traveling on DJ

This really sucks, if you are trying to improve the experience for guests, why not fix the LAX lounge? Fix international bookings (So I can A, make them with points and B, view them in my Velocity Profile).

I'm currently in SFO for work and had to persuade my employer to allow me to fly Virgin across the pacific, compared to Qantas so I could requalify my status because I really thought Virgin were still improving things and growing as an airline (Because, they still aren't there yet IMO, international upgrades don't exist and the IT system is cough). Seems now they've reached most of their goals they are winding things down and taking back benefits.

I guess they hired one to many employees from Qantas.

Print at home boarding passes and photo shop you can have a boarding pass for every day of the year lol :-)

Has anyone actually recieved an email about this yet?
I got an email yesterday, so opened it up, no mention of this, just blowing their own trumpet about having better OTP than the Qantas Group...... Didnt mention that Tiger probably flogged the cough out of them since they started flying again. On that note, I just booked my first ever tiger flight, never thought I would, but out of spite, Im flying them, and might even utilise ATA at the Virgin Lounge, including a take-away for the flight... Would never have done that before, but hey, stiff ****. $80 cheaper each way to Melbourne and better OTP

But don't you have to checkin about 2-3 hrs before on TT. ... i suppose that's 3 hours of ATA lounge time.. :)

DJ scan BP's Cards religiously. When you're scanned as not being a traveller, i'm sure the AFP may then have questions as to why you're falsifying a BP ;)

On top of that, if you claim you don't have a BP (yet, or lost it), or the barcode doesn't register properly, they'll offer to look it up in their computer. You may equally have a hard time explaining why they can't find your name in any of the upcoming flights.

It depends. I always check-in at the lounge so they swipe my card. I've seen many people walk in with BP's and they scan them.
