Given I am currently resident in the UK I don't believe that will be a problem

Hence the reminder, odds are not bad given the numbers they are publishing for correct answers seem very low for a worldwide promo.

An interesting discussion about this on FT.

The photos point in a slightly different direction to the clue(s).

I went a bit lateral based on the FT discussion and guessed Central Valley, Costa Rica. There is also central volcanic range. These seem to cover 2 of the main volcanoes being discussed.

Clues? Isn't there only one clue so far?

The photo's generally suggest an area, while the written clues have helped to narrow it down. As for this week, there is plenty of space between the vegetation and the clouds to be filled in yet, which might help clarify exactly where they are talking about.

Yeah, I'm thinking the thickness of the clouds looks similar to Cost Rica as well. I'm guessing [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Poas National Park (or Poas Volcano National Park...I don't know what the official name is...but maybe we'll find out!), Costa Rica.

It won't let me post a link, but google Poas National Park Costa Rica...has some pretty good pictures.

But who knows? Could be Anywhere in this Challenge. :)

The Flyertalk thread already has the source of the images, problem being they are from three areas/volcanos AFAIK

Some weeks have been like that - the photo's have been pointing to a general area, and the first day has not always allowed a narrowing down too much. Week 3, there were only 13 correct responses on the first day!

Note the number of FT newbies - it would not take much effort for some PC affiliate to slip some red herrings into the thread. Be wary.

I think they did with the flash code last week which was cool, much more fun to learn about a place by search rather than decompiling code :D

Looks like its Arenal, two oceans from the summit.

I am now leaning to Irazu, although there is some question as to how its active both day and night, however since Arenal was my Day 1 answer I have nothing to lose by going with Irazu today.

Funny you should day that :cool::p

Potentially 1500 points to gain by a different answer
