Card Offers ANZ Frequent Flyer Black: 130,000 Qantas Points + $200 back

I don't think there's pro-rated refunds of annual fees anymore (if ever it's been offered - certainly not in my 6 years of doing the CC churning game) - otherwise they'd be giving 95% of cardholders refunds after they cancel once points have been issued.

I closed my ANZ Qantas Platinum card in Jan after my sign-up bonus points were awarded and haven't received a refund of my annual fee, nor would I expect one.
Pro-rata was on the table and offered for nab signature cards until very recently.
Very much documented here on AFF under NAB cards.
Used it twice myself as many did here, hence it not continuing.

You do need to ask. I have heard from several people who insist they often receive them after asking.

Not meant to hijack this thread but I recently applied for this credit card and was approved after uploading the payslips. However I got the call next day asking me to supply the bank statement to verify my salaries. The card is already in the post but they blocked it until further assessment. Anyone has come across situations like this? Am a long time anz customer and have been churning this card 3 years in a row now

Ok, so I got the cash back on my card, but not the points yet. It's been nine days.

So, you think I should phone next week if they still haven't appeared too, or wait until the next cycle to check then? I've been with them for three months but only had two statement documents appear in my account so far because there was trouble at their end trying to rig me up in the first place after I applied.

You get the points at the same time as a statement. You won't get them out of cycle.

Anyone able to successfully get a pro-rata refund recently? Tried with two agents and no luck.

Just my own thinking, but it really isn't cool to try to get pro rata refunds. Churning works based on us expecting the card provider to stick to the letter of an agreement, even though it is disadvantageous for them to do so. Not sticking to your side of the bargain once they have delivered on theirs is pretty stinky.

Was expecting to receive 90k points but pleasantly surprised to get 100k two months after opening

Hmm. Didn’t get the signup bonus in the first statement after meeting the required spend (or the annual fee cashback). ANZ generally does it the first month after meeting the spend, don’t they?

As a reference point, in Nov 23, I reached the spend limit within the 1st statement but didn't receive the points but it came through in the 2nd statement.

SO currently reached the spend in their 2nd statement but no points so I'm hoping that it'll come through in the 3rd statement.

Has anyone experienced a delay in receiving the 90,000 bonus points on this card?

I easily reached the spend requirement in the first month. Its now been a week with no bonus points yet.

ANZ have started awarding the points the following statement period after meeting the eligible spend criteria. So you need to wait another month. Eg you meet the spend criteria on 5th august and your statement period ends 20th august you will not receive bonus points, you will receive them on statement ending 20th September. That has been our families experience in 2024. You will receive points for purchases earlier. If you have not received those check they have your correct qff number on file

Thanks Eddie

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have churned this card and my previous experience was a more prompt awarding of bonus points.

Will await next statement period for the bonus points.

Yes same for me, previous three times they awarded bonus points in the same statement period as when elibility criteria met

Yep! Me! My second month just ended yesterday. Despite well and truly meeting the $5000 spend I only got the regular transfer of QF points over to my account. I'm sure last time I had this card the bonus points come accross at the end of the month cycle I met the spend in.

This is good to know - Thanks. I'll wait another month and see if the 90,000 points (plus the $200 rebate on the annual fee) come through.
