Generally happy to stay away from CC's but looking at this. So it's get card, spend 2.5k in first week, collect 70k QFF points, cancel card? And do people just "pay" the 2.5k to another bank account to meet requirement?

No, you can't transfer money from a CC to a bank account without incurring a Cash Advance fee, which would make the transaction ineligible for the bonus points anyway.

We generally meet the minimum spend by making everyday transactions. Easy to drop $2.5k on groceries, fuel and other bills over 90 days. If you want to make the spend faster, just find a bigger expense.

Gift cards are another option, if you're stuck trying to meet the spend. A couple of $100 Coles/Myer cards are an easy way to shift the $$ into another place where you can spend it later.

Otherwise, there are several online payment portals that you can use to make transactions that would otherwise be ineligible for the bonus points.

Thanks Obi. Bit tricky with current Covid19 uncertainty but bills still have to be paid I guess and hopefully QF won't go bust 😷😷🧻🧻🧻

Approved exactly a week after applying... Happy Friday the 13th!

Is anyone else having trouble applying for this?

Been getting the following message

"Hmm, there seems to be a problem.
Sorry about that. We'll be back online as soon as we can.
Try again, or call 13 22 73, Mon-Fri, 8am to 8pm (AEST)"

or

I get the processing application countdown that times out after about 5-10mins.

Applied 12 days ago and can see that they have done a credit check. Still waiting for news...

Ooops - went with the black.
At least should get me points club plus so not a total waste :)
45000 points for $150 - I've done worse

With the current economic climate, it seems ANZ has pulled this offer forward & now expiring 24 March, is this a sign that they’re Endeavouring to eliminate any new risk & not likely to approve any last minute applications?

Got a message to contact them about the application on a phone number, called the number to be told they are not taking calls and to send an email. Sent an email and got a reply with a graphic attachment that is not visible.

Not going smoothly...

Might be COVID staffing related.

Same situation as mine has been pending a short while. They aren't taking phone calls as you found out (I called a different line accidentally and the assistant directed me to that automated message) and I'm still awaiting a reply via email.

Got approved today after applying last week.
Anybody know what will happen with frequent flyer points if qantas go bust lol.

Applied three weeks ago, still no word. And no email to confirm the email I sent either...

Applied last Wednesday and received two emails this Wednesday. One was a rejection email and a second asking to clarify some financial information despite doing all my banking with ANZ. Have provided that info and now waiting for an update.

Received a call about a week after applying, re-clarified the application information although they didn't receive multiple emails with the documents so have resent so fingers crossed. They made me aware of the 2 credit cards I still have open on my credit file that I didn't mention, advised my intention to close these accounts which they seemed fine with & simply required the closure letter.

Interesting aspect that she mentioned was that the application is only valid for 84 days which certainly seems extensive but interesting to know that an application can still be active & pending approval for this duration.

Has this offer been extended? I can’t see the expiry date now
