Stringing out the bonus points only makes me more determined to ditch the card. This is the promotion you have when you don't want to have a promotion.

There was never a question regarding ditching for me!

It is not stringing out when they are not actually due yet.

It is more that some people were paid early..probably as a mistake.

Personally my view is that so many people ditching the card so quickly makes it less like that similar future offers would come out from anz as well as other card suppliers.

This is a very generous offer...so why all the angst??? I mean that generally and not just Scr 77

All it shows is that people are never satisfied with offers, and whinges when things don't go their way.

This is a VERY GENEROUS offer from ANZ. No annual fee first year and you get 50K QFF points for it. All you have to wait is 4 months after spending only $1500 on it. What more do you want?

+100, quite happy for those who are never satisfied to move onto something else. Imagine complaining about 50k for nothing!

Like many others I'll be cancelling once the points post, but I don't have any issues about waiting four months for the points. Like Edison wrote, this is an extremely generous offer and I'm grateful to have been able to take part in it.

My issue is purely with how bad the ANZ online banking system is. Everything about it is awkward. Navigation is horrible, the layout of the transaction screens, the huge delays to even show transactions... for someone who keeps a very close eye on incomings and outgoings across all of my accounts, it just drives me mad. How can every other bank I've used be so quick, when ANZ takes a minimum of 3 full days to show any transaction?

I am/was very happy with the offer. An existing customer, I was also approved for another card, spent the required amount and got the bonus very quickly - OK, I was one of the lucky ones. My credit card limits have now been amalgamated and I am certain that I would not have been approved for "that high" a limit by asking for a limit increase.
My card has now been changed over to the Black and I'm keeping it.

I will be cancelling my cards just before the twelve months is up. I only got the Basic card with 1k limit. Hubby will be keeping his Black card, and instead he will be cancelling our Westpac Black cards which have been our main cards for years. With no status, the lounge access (along with points on BPay) will make the ANZ better value.

+ 1 happy to keep as long as the CBR friendly status remains.

I have not received any bonus miles yet but was fairly upset when I got a warning that I had not paid my balance on time.
Unfortunately,I was overseas and unable to wear a long call to ANZ to fix the matter.
It looks like it can take over 4 weeks from application until the direct debit of your bank account comes into action!
I filled in the paperwork and sent off to Melbourne mid september and it appears, according to the agent i spoke to , that the debit was not set up until the 19 october!
In any case , the agent cancelled additional charges - fair enough - but it does leave a nasty taste in my mouth re the competence and professionalism of the ANZ card organization.

Yeah, this has certainly been an eye opener for me with regards to ANZ. I guess that is a nice perk of playing the credit card bonus game - you get a feel for different banks and how they operate, and I know it has made me appreciate how good a job my day to day bank does in comparison to most of the competition!

Glad i'm not the only one who finds their online banking service a headache.

On the other hand my points were issued a few days after the I paid the statement in which I had finally spent the $1500.

Anyone know if you already hold an ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum (Has been held for several years and haven't received any bonus points.) Then if i apply for an ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card for the current promotion am i still eligible for the 50,000 points after minimum spend etc?

Based on several reports in this thread, yes.

So November we should all receive points?
This card will be known as:
LEST WE FORGET!

Actually I don't mind ANZ Internet Banking at all. I have home loan package with them and I find Internet banking pretty good! I certainly have seen worse internet banking.

I've definitely seen worse. But there's also better available in Australia.

Yes did just that both signed up for cards, spent the $1500 each in first week 2 months ago no QFF points as yet.

I have a gut feeling we are going to have to work for our points...which is fine as this offer is the best I have seen.
