Shifty - Any news on your second application?

Oops, sorry forgot to report back. Got approved the next day after supplying some income info. Received the cards 3 days later, activated and they assigned a new customer number to me.

I did the minimum spend this weekend, so will wait and see what happens with the bonus points. Last time they took ages to come through. My guess is, as I have a new customer number they have no idea what's going on.

I applied for the black frequent flyer card with no annual fee first year and $3000 spend to get 50000 QFF points today. I think cut off date to apply is today.

Anyways I got approved instantly, was quite surprised? I don't even have an ANZ account?

How long does it take in reality for the bonus points to post?

As this was many months ago for me (6 months +), I can't recall. But I know that this was asked previously. Suggest you search the thread.

Vague memory of around 3 months

Sounds about right. I don't believe I had problems getting the points, unlike with some organisations - yes Bankwest and CitiBank I'm looking at you and you're pathetic efforts.

Thanks all. 3 months from making the required spend or 3 months from first spend?

I got my card 3 months ago (made the required spend in the first month) and the 50,000 points has just showed up in online banking (in the past few days) as bonus/promotional points for next month's statement.

Ok thanks for the info. I think I have 1.5 months to wait. Can't wait any longer as I want to knock down and rebuild my house and need to cancel the anz cards so I can loan more :)

Seems ANZ have wised up to the bonus pts earnt by holders owho previously held cards from last promo and who did not wait the 12mth period before signing up again - don't you hate that? No pts for me this time!

And now you have to wait 12 months from this failed application?

Got a nasty surprise when my statement for this card arrived in the mail yesterday - $295 in annual fees. Whoops!

A rather extended phone call - 13:32min - this morning had the account closed and all fees reversed.

I was asked why I was cancelling, and I explained I had other cards - and was asked whom with. The telephonist also queried if my gaining points was the reason I signed up. "It was a factor" I told her.

But worth remembering if anyone else is in my boat, and signed up 12 months ago to harvest points, that it's time to go.

I signed up in June and still haven't got the points, called them just now and they said the minimum spend was $3000. I had only spent $2500 thinking the minimum spend was $1500.

I'll be cancelling it and waiting for another deal now, unless I can prove it was $1500 minimum when I signed up.

Interesting! I signed up in August and pretty sure it was $3000, but now it says $5000 min spend everywhere, which of course I havent. Not sure if I get the points now.. so disappointed if not :/

I signed up around your time and it's definitely $3000. I spent $3300 and I got my 50000 points a couple of days ago.
