What do the T&Cs say about where the promotion is based on the application or approval date? Put in an AFCA case regardless detailing the chronology of events, decent chance they honour the original promotion given the length of time between application and approval.

Good point - It says "Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Rewards Black Credit Card" on the new offer and ive assumed it was similar for the last.

Seems like its a confusing way to say apply and are approved

ANZ might do the right thing by the customer - it really falls somewhere between bad luck and unreasonable delay.

Previous interactions have usually resulted in approval post phone call.

Credit providers get charged when you apply to the Ombudsman regardless of outcome (more if you win), so always worth stating you will escalate if your complaint isn’t resolved satisfactorily!

Go ANZ - apparently they sent an email confirming the original promo will apply and even specified the points and cash back etc.
