ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure Card

I spent two periods on hold for 3 hours yesterday with no luck. I did lodge a complaint and suggested that if they can’t manage to answer the phone given the large volume of calls then perhaps they could just issue vouchers for Virgin that I can redeem myself. I’ll try again first thing on Monday and hopefully will be able to get through.
 
The ANZ Rewards call centre will be open from 8am until 8pm on Monday (their website says AEST - not sure if they mean AEDT). If you still haven't redeemed your flight, call early!
 
Wow reports people can't even get on the hold queue this morning
 
Tried calling ANZ Rewards, couldn't even get connected. I've called a number I found on one of my previous bookings instead. I've gone into a queue, no idea if they'll be able to help me though and the hold music is different, so I guess we'll see.
Bit of a mess, wish I'd done this a week ago, even with the border uncertainty.
 
Same story here....it's a joke!

Hoping for some more 'official' confirmation. Might just mean another week of sitting on hold though!
 
They just called me back. Person on the phone was very quick and I had all my details ready so she had it all booked and the call over in literally 3 mins and 20 secs! Very happy with the representative.

Took me a bit of searching to find that! It's in the replies on this comment.
I'm hoping they do something like send us all an email to confirm. Then I'd happily hang up and try again later during the week, take some of the pressure off. It certainly looks pretty official though, it is from their official account.
 
Found another post with a similar response so looks like it is official but yes would be good to put this on the web page or similar.

Has anyone called this morning and how long did it take to speak to someone and book? I’ve called at 920 and still waiting.
 
I have just spoken to some one now, had been on hold since 8:00am. So 2 hours on hold. I asked them if it was true that they would be extending the deadline to redeem the free flight. The operator went and checked with the supervisor and confirmed that you will now have until Friday night to redeem the free flight. They suggested ringing at 8:00am as the hold times have been very, very busy and the wait times were very, very long.

Well, I was on hold for about two hours, but finally got through to ANZ Travel and then got the booking made nice and quick.
If I hadn't already been on the line when I saw the Facebook posts though I would have waited a day or two and tried then.

Yeah I tried ringing at 8am and couldn't get through. Of course if the only publicity is via this site would suggest a few people are just going to give up.
 
We could blame ourselves for leaving it late but who would be thinking of booking for travel with the pandemic if not because of the deadline. ANZ rewards team could have foresee an influx of calls and increase their capacity with more agents redeployed to book or offer an alternative online booking. It is quite ridiculous having to wait so long to speak to someone..
 
Nice to see this has been officially announced on their FB page! I think Wednesday/Thursday may be the sweet spot myself but will continue to monitor.

Yes, indeed the deadline has been extended until 7 December 2020. ANZ confirmed this with us earlier today after we contacted them.
