ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure Card

I would like to cancel my card in early February before my annual fees are due.
I tried to reach ANZ to have an idea as to when Velocity transfers will be available again and no one seems to know.

Would anyone have any information by any chance?
I have quite a large sum of points and already have a large balance in my Velocity account.

I have 0 miles with Krisflyer or others proposed FFPs.

I spoke to them yesterday and was advised that lounge passes will be sent out closer to a booked trip "in case the booking has to change as the passes have a limited lifespan". I guess there is some logic in that, but it remains to be seen if the process actually works. Fortunately I won't be sweating on them as I will use my "discovery gold" for lounge access for the upcoming "free" trip.

I am with you. I have about 57K ANZ points, which would convert to about 28K velocity points (on top of what I already have) and get me about 4 short domestic flights. I have a handful of Asia Miles but they might have expired (it was never enough or a flight) and it seems I wouldn't even get 2 short domestic fights on Qantas.

When I cancelled my card in late September, there was no option to transfer to VFF at that time, only KFF and AirMiles where I had no points. Ended up burning 47k ANZ points on Bunnings vouchers. I really felt quite little for resorting to that....

Spoke to anz travel today as i was no longer able to take my trip to Perth. Was able to get a credit, which lasts until the date i originally booked on. Was advised there's also no "Reissue fee" if i book and travel before 31st March, not sure if this is the $133 fee they mentioned or not? Possibly extended until end of June if it is to match their new policy today.

Asked about the lounge passes and got a bit of a weird answer. Supposedly they're waiting for all the lounges to open but firstly need to wait to hear word from Virgin before they can be sorted out. Hard to know how much he really knew though...

When you say you could no longer take your trip, was that because it was due to flight cancellations or border closures, or was it a choice made by you? I would really like to ask for credit for the flights that were booked as direct but now have a stop over each way. I don’t know if it’s worth asking though.

Because of border closure, so while i could have taken the flight, i would have had to quarantine and all that (If not sent back). So you should be fine to ask to put it on credit without much issue.

Terrific. Thanks!

The flights I have had booked to Perth were no longer suitable due to date and schedule adjustment (both the airline and my work plans). I called up ANZ travel and was quite surprised, complimentary change to my preferred dates a week earlier in February was not a problem.

Now to Mr McGowan, tear down that wall...I'll probably give up and just let the flight/credit/wathever go if I have to call up again...

Received our lounge passes in the mail today. Expiry date 28 Feb 22 .

I received my first set of lounge passes today, also expiring 28 Feb 2022. I'm due to take my free VA flight next week. The second set of passes (I'm waiting for 2 pairs) hasn't arrived yet...

Had a booking last year and received passes that expired Jan 2021.
That flight was cancelled but when I rebooked for May this year they said the passes would not be replaced.
I have another booking for July this year.
I received two passes today, had been hoping for four.

Likewise, received two passes (one envelope), despite being owed four passes total (one set requested around September, and another just before the cutoff for booking the flight).

Will give it a few weeks for them to catch up, otherwise ANZ will be getting a call!

Well I received the second envelope of lounge passes today.

(My second booked trip is supposed to start 3 days after the first trip, and the other passes arrived 2 days after the first lot.)

Neither of my lots have arrived yet, but perhaps there's just an order to it based on flight booking date

I'm looking to cancelling this card before the next annual fees are due. But I will still have a flight (booked already) to take after the planned cancellation date. I am assuming that flight booking remains valid - but that I might have some issues with rebooking it, if the borders close again or for some other reason I can't fly.

Any advice for this situation? Or should I just retain the card for another year (with the lesser annual fee now)?
