Got up at 4:30 and woke up wife and son firstly, to get them off to the local RSL for the 6am service.

Then made a cuppa and watched the Sydney service. Woke up daughter and we are watching the Canberra service now as dawn breaks here in BNE.

Have a great day everyone. My thoughts to everyone travelling to services today. Be safe and remember the fallen.

Lest We Forget.

Regret to say I am out of country and no where near a service or anything appropriate :(

I'm sleeping in but i listened to the bugle played at North Bondi dawn service.

Was awake at 4:30am and I went to the 6am service at Chelsea RSL (where I am an affiliate member) - they had a light breakfast there but i skipped the "gunfire" bit (rum).

Home now - They have a 9:30am march and service which i will skip today.

Off to the MCG for the Footy there this afternoon - taking my 11yo grandson.

Wow, that was a powerful service - I don't think my daughter has seen me cry so much.

Was lovely to see them acknowledge the local RSL members who have died in the past year and to see Cameron Bairds' brother lay a wreath.

Time for another cuppa and an Anzac biscuit.

Dawn service at Rose Park wearing grandfather's and my medals.

Lest we forget.

Would've liked to be up for the dawn service but we had a function last night and didn't get to bed till quite late. Quiet morning at home, a bit of baking then dinner with my mum.

Went to the local 0615 service. Very large crowd. Didn't get to see much of it after my services were required when one of the Veterans collapsed
The Fire Rescue crew helped me until the ambulance arrived and he's now safely in the local ED. Hopefully nothing more than standing around too long with low blood pressure.

Poor thing, hope hes ok. Lucky you were there.

It's sad that these vets won't be around much longer.3 of my grandparents served and only one remains.

Attended Wellington Dawn Service at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park.
Great turnout and service. Aussie & Kiwi Governor Generals in attendance.
Also Cameron Baird parents in attendance. Official party heading across the ditch
after the dawn service for Australian ceremonies.

Off to the Saints Vs Carlton this arvo, Go Saints.

My mother's birthday is Anzac Day - she turns 87. Her Father served in Villers Bretonneux which marks the 100th year in 2018. He later served in the War Grave repatriation services. When he returned he was distressed that the remains of some 300 men had not been recovered. Just recently those remains have been put to rest. We have journeyed there before but plan on travelling there in 2018 for the 100 years. At least we wont have to try for the ballot this time. :(
