Article: How to Join Qantas Frequent Flyer for Free

A friend of mine runs seminars that give limited information on a particular investment strategy as a lure to engage with his company

He never runs the seminars for free and has a significant ticket price.

I dicussed with him one day. He explained anything that is totally free is worthless and will be treated as such by the recipient. The no shows to the event would. be enormous.

They who paid for the ticket are “invested” financially and will come along. (Although there are always exceptions).

Those who receive a ticket where the fee is waived (not a free ticket) will be grateful for the gesture and more than likely come along (although there are always exceptions))

Do we have apples and oranges, here? 😉
Not sure I have grasped the subtly of your post.

The QF strategy appears analogous to my friends business strategy (which he claims has proven itself) as they have set a price on their membership allegedly giving a value but you can obtain one without charge which is not the same as free - there is a difference in my mind - in dispute the accuracy of the thread title, but then I’m a pendant.

Something must be working as QFF is very successful (some may say more than the flying operations) , profitable and has the largest engagement of any such scheme in AU despite the personal feelings or opinions of some posters. Various people will have varied opinions on the value to their personal circumstances.

I joined QFF in 2006 when I was booking an LGLOB29 at the Qantas Travel travel agent.
They had me join and charged the ~$60 then joining fee, then discounted $100 off the airfare.

It was my first RTW trip. Had to get an xGLOBnn in order to use JAL (before they joined oneworld, so JAL couldn't be used on an xONEx) and got a paper ticket (extended my stay in Osaka and visited the JAL downtown Osaka office to change the ticket where they applied stickers to the paper coupons to change the dates).
