Article: No Compensation for Qantas Catering Failures

I flew QF198 (APW-BNE) yesterday. No meals provided (5 hour flight), a "snack bag" was handed out just after take off which consisted of chips etc but nothing substantial. No prior text advising lack of catering and no acknowledgment or apology from the crew (which made me question whether this is normal - APW is not exactly SIN). I did confirm this morning that the flight is being sold with a "hot meal" according to the QF booking engine.

I submitted feedback this morning, 35 minutes later an email confirming this was not the normal service and 10K points was credited to my account (it was a CR flight that only cost me 20K so not bad).

It was a large snack bag so you probably would not go hungry, but most of it was unhealthy and I didn't want to eat it. Oh - also the white wine was warm. The CM apologised saying that's all they had. I didn't see anyone else drinking, most of the pax were Samoan and it was a Sunday.
