ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Altitude Black Amex has also just posted points for me - and I loaded my card $25k in credit before paying (just pointing that out as I believe with some cards you get no points if it's >$10k in credit).

Is EDR MC still earning? I have a small personal tax bill to pay and wouldn't mind the points but don't want to waste my money.

I received a report that an AFF member did not get points this month on Woolies EDRCC.
I am still hammering Amex Ultimate instead even though it is twice the cost for QF points.

What was the spend to ato...? Above or below 10k?

My points posted fine last night cove

QEDRCC was tardy in posting points this month, points were credited on the online statement fine, but the transfer to QFF was slower than normal. Was a concern that something may have changed and that I may have received the dreaded letter....hmmm that would not be good

Anyway points posted 6 days later than usual, so perhaps there was a glitch in their system this month... And now to request upgrade some Red e-deal's I have booked for next month...life's good again

Mine posted correctly and on time (wow EDRCC).
Did I tell you I am thinking about paying most of July BAS early to give Amex a final treat before July21st?

i think they deserve such a parting gift :)

omg, i was thinking the exact same thing. Last month had a couple of ATO transactions which I was becoming convinced they were finally sending me the letter too, just as soon as they had used the template for the shintaro10x letter. Oh well it will be good to see it post this week.

Another data point of full points posting from ATO transactions on WOW EDR (15k worth) - and they posted promptly.

Have just received a Black Westpac MasterCard. I guess it may come in handy as an Amex for ATO.
I woke up early and gave the Ultimate a buzz and no I did not try to pay my $2.50 train ride on that same card.

Mrscove is bringing the card to me tonight in Sydney from Perth. I think it may be Altitude but I want both.
The urgency for running up Qantas points is diminishing and I only have about 25% of a chunk left to pay the ATO.
I was a bit stunned at how much our 2012 flood levy and Medicare levy was for our family this last year because there is no upper limit to the percentage charged but that is the system so there is no point choking on it.

Be careful with an ATO spend at that level, if that is a monthly payment amount then you run a real risk of losing this card as it is pushing close to the level where some have already had theirs cancelled... around the 200k level and you will be noticed, especially if there is not a "mixture" of normal spend on that card also. Remember this is a mum's & dad's card, so a ~200k spend per annum won't be the norm with them...

If you are not worried about losing it though, then just use it while you can

I paid two little ATO bills on WOW EDRCC today. Gee the fee is low compared with Amex.
Have never gone more than 30,000 in one month on this card.

I think you'll be ok Trippin_the_rift. I had hardly used my Altitude cards for about 6 months but I've put through over 6 figures on Black Amex this week, and so far all points have posted.
