ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

My active ATO cards are WBC Black Altitude and Black Earth until Nov 8th.
Woolies EDR CC.
Westpac Platinum Kris Flyer.
BankWest Platinum (200k points cap) with a new lower earn rate for newbies.
Citi Executive (US card) now earns .87 AA points per dollar due to the currency fluctuation.

The ones that are off the list are now more than the ones that are active and they include Amex Ultimate and Velocity, Australian Citi cards and a few other minor ones where the monthly capping of points is a problem.

That BankWest cap is annual total of 200,000 points per year (not month) so for some it may mean this card is used for a few days in a year but this year it should be used before it gets "enhanced".
There is no Amex and I think the fee is about $199.

Isn't the new word simpler and fairer, not enhanced.

My ANZ card got enhanced so I am on the look out for something new.

Problem is I have a mortgage but don't live in it and I am paying rent to someone else, maybe I should move in with someone else which would help in my cash flow and points earning.

I think a public Google spreadsheet would be a good idea.

I suggested this a while back, and was told that I was lazy. And should just read through the thread.
And that listing the cards in one place would make it easy for banks to know what is being done and do an 'enhancement'.

Apparently MacBank are taking over Ww credit cards from HSBC...

Does this mean no more ATO QFF points?!

ANZ Black still pays NO CAP on visa and amex, either yearly or annually but ALL other ANZ cards now have monthly caps (and yearly) of 6K & 144K respectfully.

I'm sure this has been asked before so apologies as I can't find an answer anywhere.

Has anyone used the CBA Diamond (or any CBA cc) to pay the ATO & then called CBA & used this great rate reduced interest rate deal for 3 months

With the reduction in useful credit cards I've been using the CBA Amex for the points with the ATO all the time. I don't want to kill the golden goose by drawing their attention to it but I don't see anything in the T & C's to say you can't do it so it seems like a great way to get some very cheap credit. I don't see a max amount either it just says over $1k so I was thinking of putting $50k through & using this great rate deal.

Viable or do you think they will think I'm just taking the p... ?

October is a quarterly tax payment as well as the BAS monthly. The usual eye watering amounts to keep the Government running for a few micro seconds. Lucky it is only money.

No BAS payment for me this quarter. Some big finance asset purchases led to a $1.5M refund. Great for cashflow but bad for points.

Received the missive yesterday from Macquarie Bank for Woolies card. No indication of removal for ATO payments I could see except for the generic "at any time".

:shock::shock:...now that's the sort of refund I wouldn't mind. Actually I could live comfortably on that for some time.;)

Sorry for OT, but does the financier fund the GST on normal repayment terms so you get the full cashflow benefit of the GST refund when it comes, or do you have to carry it untill BAS time? The cap-ex in my business is miniscule (and self funded), so I've always wondered.
