ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

With BW you start with their capped Platinum card which may get you 0.75 points per dollar limited to 200,000 points per year. You may get a sign on bonus of 50,000 points for about $190 per year if that is still running.
Your upgrade path is after that to BW World by invitation.
Both cards are good for international exchange rates but that is based on only a couple of times so ymmv.

Sorry, I realise there are already a few posts in this thread!
I don't even know what some of these cards are that you are discussing -WOW? world of warcraft?
At the moment my business is paying up to 300k per year to the govt and not earning points. I want to buy J (rather than upgrade) on either VA or QF...any options now still worth it if I am just signing up? i see most of your options are running out.

Does anyone have the inside scoop on the Citi Prestige? is this still paying ATO? As my signature will soon be useless to me I was considering the value in the $700 annual fee...

Citi cards out of the ATO game for a while, though often mentioned on this thread for other high-value transactions

For least headaches get an actual Business credit card, you may not get as many points as personal cards but you wont need to worry about being cancelled either....

Never had a problem receiving points for ATO spend on both personal and business cards with Bankwest.

Qantas Cash Card pays 0.5 points/$ and allows business transactions. There is an annual cap of 100k but when I reached it I was offered an extension of the limit to 250k.

Hey Guys. Does the Westpac Altitude Black pay at 1.5 Altitude per $ on Amex or 3 points per $ for tax payments? Have read mixed reports, and would prefer some clarification before applying. 0.75 KFF points per $ is not as attractive at 1.45c per $ surcharge

It is the lower rate so most do not use it now for ATO. If you still have the WBC Plat Kris Flyer Amex you get 1.25 Kris Miles for the Amex fee of 1.45%. This card is no longer available as a new issue.

Yup that's what I thought, but needed clarification :p. From what I can tell Macquarie Bank and the Bankwest "Black" card are the best value for ato, but they only earn on Qantas which is harder to redeem outright for compared to Velocity (Etihad / Transfer --> SQ) or Kris Flyer.

I'd really like to post about a card that still earns 1:1 on ATO on a Visa/MC but due to what I can only equate to greed, potential fraud and at best money laundering by those who have abused the overpay/refund trick causing almost all cards to be shut down, I shall keep it to myself.

I agree with your sentiments regarding overpay / refund scams. It's greed like that that hurts everyone. Like the guy boasting about getting sign on bonus, filling the card up with ATO and cancelling as soon as he got the bonus

God forbid those of us who actually pay tax to this country.

I am still waiting to see what "services" the government is providing for their massive taxation income... I fear I may be waiting for Godot.

It's the same thing here in SIN. The point earns from tax payments (as minimal as they might be) are also becoming extinct. If you post something, it's guaranteed that somebody somewhere will abuse it and ruins it for everyone.
