ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Guys , please read my post properly . There was a code on ozbrgain to get the Coles virtual Prepaid card for free .
The 2nd deal is a targeted flybuy offer where the bonus flybuy points converts to Coles dollars that offsets the card purchase fee .
The virtual prepaid credit card in effect let you pay ato with MasterCard or visa and earn points (Amex not accepted for Coles prepaid MasterCard purchases) or else everybody would of been all overt that big time. I don't know if the ozbrgain code still works .

Thanks for this unfunkable. I've now bought a bunch of these, probably enough for the next tax bill. Courtesy of Citi, with points duly awarded. Not quite as many points as paying the tax bill with my KF Platinum Amex but certainly a lot cheaper. The magic number when paying ATO with the $1k card appears to be $995.82. When the CC surcharge of $4.18 gets added on it rounds it out nicely. Not a cent wasted. Bewdy!

Asg29e I notice you've used your citi card. Did you have any problem buying the quantity you wanted in one go? I've not been able to buy more than a few a day. Citi has no record of a failed authorization & I regularly put through much larger transactions at other merchants.

Thanks - just got it to work - of course the first try was user error - I was not in the VIRTUAL card section of the Coles Financial Services website - I was in the physical card section. Rookie error!

Did over several days, varying numbers. Hoping it will just fit into the spend on the card as noise amongst the clutter of many other purchases.

I would advice discretion in discussing the potential uses of the above card , will likely get restricted like other similar opportunities previously

I have really enjoyed having others pay my tax installments for the last few weeks. I wish I could make it more permanent. I have started thinking the Government isn't spending the money very well over the last 10 years and maybe Kerry Packer had the right idea.
My son has just been approved for a Q credit card. He cancelled several others to qualify. They are getting better at processing applications it seems.

Think it might be too late, not working @ 9:00 pm tonight now

sumthinfornuthin, are you implying the product has now been limited in use (i.e. Not working on our favourite site) or that the code waiving the $5 fee is no longer working?
Edit: I've figured it out. Code has expired.

I have had some disturbing news from a reliable source. My favourite CU come bank will no longer be paying points for my favourite biller. Hopefully it will only be for new accounts.

Anyone else heard of this?

At a school reunion I ran into a business couple who didn't know they could get Frequent Flyer points by paying the ATO. Ouch they missed the first 7 and a half years of this thread.
