ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Shifty I have my son testing St George so I will know in a couple of weeks how that has gone. I think it was 0.825 rather than one for one and I believe it can provide Kris Miles which would be better for his overseas travel. He is away in the US at the moment and we are heading there for work shortly.
I have 2 World cards for Qantas points now which are 0.66 per dollar now that I have my own one. This card used to be a one for one but was detuned recently.
Qudos finishes on 30/11/2016.

St George has been working nicely all year. Can be transferred to Velocity or Krisfler or can be set up as a Qantas earning card

YES and there is annual limit you can load on to the card as well
Yep - effectively the limits on load/spend are 100K per year, 60K per month and 15K per day.

Still the mastercard would earn at a cost of 1.08¢ per point - better than Amex at 2.9¢ per point.

When I hit the 100k limit, I was invited to apply for an increase to 250k (which was approved). I was honest in declaring I used the card for both personal and business expenses.

Note that from 1 July 2017 debit cards will have interchange fees severely capped so this card won't be earning 0.5 ppd for much longer.

Last used Coles early this year - worked fine. Have been using other means rest of the year but not received any notification of changes other than no points for BPay.

Albyd, was there a charge from Coles, and did it pay 1 pt per $? Thanks

What sort of charge? Went through as a normal purchase with ATO CC charge itemized separately. Got 2 FB points per dollar (I think that's 0.8 EY or 0.87 VFF) which is ok but for not wanting to start collecting a new points currency (EY) and the annual transfer limit to VFF is a little low so haven't taken Coles any further at this stage.

"Might use WBC Amex Kris Flyer following a flurry of Suites bookings. "
I've been using that card for years and works a treat.
I'm now starting top stress that it expires in July 2017 and will need to look for another.

We have lived thru a lot of changes on which cards to use for ATO.
All the Qudos points have now posted for the two of us so we now have enough Qantas points.
I think that I will try a Chase Saphire card from the US in February/March to see if it works as well as Citi AA from the US.
Today we are returning to Australia so I will start thinking about ATO once more.

Darn, just remembered this thread as I was about to set up multiple BPays to pay Mr Katie's large tax bill. And the ATO website is down. I might do some more research before setting up any more BPays.
