There is a problem on the horizon as to who is the next Captain.

Typically the best/senior batsman gets the gong - the most recent exception was Mark Taylor.
Annoyingly the media keeps assuming that Smith should take over the current Captains role but dont think his manner is what Aus cricket needs right now.

A good proper Test match. Well done India! Bettered and broken they held out against one of the beset bolwing sides in the world. Looking forward to Brisbane!

ps: Some suggest coughmins for next captain.

And also the current Captain of SA, but the selectors don't look at SA anymore, as he has done two acts of great sportsmanship In the last couple of weeks. I think he is the wicketkeeper?

When bowlers starting showing the Angry Face when they took a wicket, and I recall it was McGrath who started that trend, set the Aussies up for just being angry.

You are probably thinking of Alex Carey

To be fair I think it started long before McGrath and I don't think it is solely the domain of Australians

True. I think the likes of Lillee on fire with his gold chains may have been the genesis in my lifetime.
I just like to see joy when something great happens (eg wicket, a four/six/50/100 etc) but sometimes all we see is angry faces. I guess as I see them most often it’s the Aussies I see it in.

This team is facing serious ageing out headwinds..... Warner 34 wade 33 , Smith 31 Hazelwood 30 and Paine 36 on the wrong side of 30.....

The outgoing (Paine) captains reputation will only grow Even if he vanishes ibecause he ages out. And at 36 how much longer ? 3 dropped catches his lips ought have been sealed not chatterbox sledging, our supporters will seek another saviour (A very Green Pucovski) another maverick....

Losers should know how to lose well, but victors should know how to win wisely. So ignore Paine, and just count the weeks until he goes.

The highlight of the day for me on TV was the Interview with Darren Lehman. Was about his bout with heart disease when on the Gold coast just under a year ago.He awoke at 0430 on the morning of his 50th birthday feeling crook. Then as he did when waking early reached for a cigarette. He realised he didn't want it so felt it was something serious so called for medical help ending up with a bypass.

About 30 minutes ago, passed the halfway mark (50 of 100 expected over for the last innings)

India 2/133 (target 328)

I cannot believe what I am watching right now. 😱

People wonder how a game can be exciting at the end of five days! Test cricket at this standard is fantastic! I must admit India are playing superbly.
I always go for the underdog and my India, losing so many players, were just so determined and gutsy! Unbelievable. India will go crazy!

The Indians played very well on the last day of this test and the Sydney test.

Not taking away from the Indian team but I think it is time to discuss the Australian captaincy.
In the last day in Sydney the quicks were consistently bowling short and it failed. So what did they do today?Bowled short and obviously thought it would be a different result.

And what about the use of the part time bowlers. When things get bogged down the use of Labuschagne or Smith could be useful. In the past it often led to a wicket. In Brisbane Labuschagne bowled 1 over in each innings.Certainly the commentary team were suggesting things like that.

Also in the last session they replayed Starcs wickets the last time they played India.Virtually all were on the stumps with a few good yorkers.

The trouble with the Captain discussion is who is the replacement? Maybe choose the best wicket keeper in Australia and the answer might become clear.

Agree re the use of part time bowlers. Used to be that most players could bowl a few overs and sometimes with some surprising results.
