Australian Cricket Season 2023-2024

Thinking that they are claiming a moral victory, following on from England.

:)
Why don’t they just ban anyone but India from winning? Much easier.

or employ their own umpires! :) :)

Same old
Same old
Test team announced

By the end of the summer
The only Green player under 30 will be Cam “the Saviour”

At least there’s one forced change after Sydney but it’s very risk averse

Picking a fast bowler with the nickname “Wild Thing” is interesting, no not recalling Shaun Tait, think he is a bit too old, but Lance Morris, he is young at 25.
He mightn’t get a game, but at least he is in the squad.

Morris will play I think.
Starc is carrying an injury and probably won’t come up so I reckon they will go with Morris

It'll be easier for Warner to score runs in Perth than in Brisbane, where the first test should be and where he failed dismally last year.

The heavy emphasis on fast bowlers indicates what sort pitch there'll be in Perth. Neser would have been a great addition IMO. Maybe Swepson or Murphy will be brought into the squad after Perth. Lyon is getting on a bit, perhaps only one or two more seasons?

gosh
the lack of posts suggest what a dull year of cricket this has been...

games over in 2-3 days doesn't do anything for the sparkle and perseverance necessary to last the distance... the modern's world savouring the cool-aid of big bashes

Maybe we can get an update from the Cricketers Club at the Gabba when @QF WP returns from lunch/dinner? At least a rundown on the menu and wines should be in order :)

There's got to be something worth watching hey?

Just arrived at my local for a few pints and some cricket watching. Looking like another mini test is upon us… WI 5-64 after choosing to bat?! 😎

Would highly suggest those who are able to, to tune into the India v England series - a big one, where my honest preference is for both teams to lose 4-0! Australia are probably going to score 952 at the Gabba before a cyclone hits, so that's where I'm directing my cricketing attention

The Gabba is a bit too far south to be hit by the cyclone but there is rain forecast for the next 3 days.
fortunately massively downgraded the amounts this morning.

Maybe a touch of humidity might spice things up a little.

Nice to see the West Indies doing much more than just 'put up a fight'.

W.I - 311

Aus. - 4/54 - after being 4/24.

Edit: Now 5/54

Dessert - it was delightful.
