Australian (Open) Tennis and COVID-19

Great suggestion. After all we cannot live with any risk whatsoever being on a full elimination strategy. The Williams sisters could have an amazing design for theirs I’m sure!
I walked by Serena yesterday morning in the city. She was unmasked!! Oh the humanity of it all as she sipped her coffee, with 6ft of open air in the wind tunnel of Collins St between us...

Hope she is tested regularly for the virus... hope and pray she is negative to the virus

Yes our premiers locking down at one case have a lot to answer for, that goes without saying....

WTA is so bad for strategic MTOs. It's a bit like the grunting, should be penalised and it would be amazing how many players could suddenly play grunt free.

Men’s singles final is now set - Djokovic (1) v Medvedev (4)

Women’s final is on tomorrow night and after that Aussies Matt Ebden and Sam Stosur fly the flag in the mixed doubles.

Rather awkward speech tonight from Jane ? With all the booing with regards to the vaccine and the Victorian Govt. she looked so uncomfortable and the booing very unnecessary.

I thought the same! But she got 'boos' last night when she thanked the Victorian government. Tonight she doubled down by talking vaccines. I have no idea why she would even have gone down that path given last night's response.

But the interesting thing was she went on to make a semi disapproving comment about how the audience were 'opinionated'. Which might well be true... but at the end of the day you'd surely try not to get off side with your customer base?

Are customers just an inconvenience to her and they should sit down, shut up, and take what they're given? Are those her expectations for customers at Virgin?

The booing started when she started promoting VA2 and she said ‘snack boxes in business class are here to stay’.... there were clearly some AFF members in the audience ;)

I think she should stick to tennis.. not got involved in vaccines (not anti vaxx here) but that is not her area of expertise, and she should not mentioned it in public as a official in her role as TA chair

She actually only got booed when she said ‘if you get vaccinated and display proof of vaccination on VA2 you will get half a thimble of water and some Chinese made ‘beef’ flavoured 2 minute noodles for just $7.50’

I think that is what set people off.
