Disappointing that whinging from interstate has caused a change, we now are getting delayed numbers instead of real ones. Old system was more timely and thus much better. Now if they have a case at 9pm we wait more than 36 hours to find out anything.
Interstate? LOL.

The question is why do you need that information...what are you going to do with it?

As long as NSW Health publishes exposure sites in a timely manner...that's all that matters.

MrP got tested yesterday in SA. No symptoms at all but he'd arrived back from Sydney last week when the outbreak was confined to Bondi. Negative result 9 hours later. No queue in Port Adelaide yesterday lunchtime. Just got to do it. It was his first.
We have thousands in Canberra under stay at home orders and they all need to get tested, so queues not surprising. Mr FM’s 3rd test since this began. Looking after Bub 3 days a week and going to playgroup and bop tots is a health hazard :)

Important to note that one of the positives in Hunter region is linked to an NT mine, which makee the source Queensland

Whinging from interstate or just from NSW based journalists?

Always blame interstate!

Boggles the mind - a Victorian travelling to the NT caught it in QLD and has spread it to someone in NSW

Both of my colds have been from grandbub! usually only do weekday childcare when he's unwell and can't go to day care. Gone are the days from March last year when the family wanted to protect us oldies from Covid. Now it can be a case of - take Jnr for a Covid test (done that twice now) or look after him because he has a cold. 😂

Adelaide centres will be busy today with iso and testing being extended to those arriving from Sydney a week ago.

The question is why do you need that information

Because NSW has been the most transparent and forthcoming with info since the start, and now info is being withheld becuase some numpties couldn't follow perfectly clear data.

Many tune into the 11am everyday to hear commentary from Dr Chant who has now been gagged for anything happening after 8pm. Exposure lists come out through the day, but Dr Chants commentary provides context and explains how things are linked. Speed of information and timely response is key, taking away a timely communication channel is a cough decision.

Those that live here have always had 2 sets of numbers, those to 8pm and then others in the 13 hours since, it was working and understood. Some media types (started with victorian based reporters writing for SMH) whinged and now we all have less information.

Delaying case discusions risks delayed reponse, not everyone can be glued to website all day, but listening to the 11am hae become a ritual, can listen whilst working.

Many do not realise that the ABC Covid Blog is written from Victoria (hence more Vic coverage than other states) and majority of SMH coverage comes from Victorian reporters as Fairfax culled most of their Sydney based reporting teams. Had reporters not suddenly started complaining we would still be getting full data.

Well, it wouldn't be the first cough decision they've made this week.

The SMH? The SYDNEY Morning Herald?

Glued to a website all day? You mean a source they can check any time at their leisure? Versus a fixed time event that takes place during normal working hours?

AP deflecting attention away from HQ failures and community transmission in Qld by telling Queenslanders to avoid whole of NSW.

4 new cases in NT (one of those the NSW Hunter Region case i mentioned earlier).

4 new NT Cases. One in NSW
Wonder if there is a case of liability on the Queensland government for causing an otherwise healthy domestic traveller to catch covid from by bizarrely putting him on the same floor as international travellers?

Darwin into lockdown.

Apparently a couple of close contacts who were contacted cannot now be reached.

The Brisbane hotel situation is certainly bizarre. That hotel and the 5th floor just keep giving. Yet the CHO always seems to suggest that each new case is not linked to a common transmission event...so something is fundamentally wrong there. Ventilation? I thought previously she suggested it was contact from a staff member's poor use of PPE e.g. gloves. And only now she's moved everyone off the 5th floor.
