Map of Vic Public Exposure sites in Victoria

Not that this does not include private sites, or sites where all possible contacts are known. So for example there is a known case at Ballarat.

Luck. You only have to read this forum to know that people have been moving between Greater Sydney and the Regions, and in the media plenty of examples including the daughter of the Deputy Premier.

That removalist truck that went to Melbourne could just as easily been delivering to Dubbo.
I have been a few times to pick things up from Dubbo and have to say there is a lot less contact compared to travelling to Sydney or Melbourne.

Plus I heard him say the other day they have "elite" contact tracers which may be better than the gold standard and may see the lockdown end before NSW.
It would be better if these labels could just go away...they have been incredibly divisive throughout the pandemic in Australia.

"Firstly, we have an additional case at the MCG in level two of the MCC members' reserve. Two of his friends have now had the virus and they have recently travelled to Phillip Island. That is three.
"The social contact of the Trinity Grammar teacher at the MCG now has the virus and we have learned about two further staff members at Trinity Grammar also testing positive. That is six.
"There has been a visit to Miss Frankie's restaurant from a positive case which has seen three cases of transmission with a staff member and patron sitting on nearby tables. That is nine.
"There has also been another student at Saint Patrick's primary school in Murrumbeena, that takes us to 10.
"We also have two staff members at Bacchus Marsh Grammar, and one student. We have four household contacts of the Young & Jackson case, being the gentleman's wife and his daughters, Department of one of the daughters. That brings us to 18.
"One household contacts of the original gentleman from the city of Hume who visited Coles, this was the case who had been isolating throughout their infectious period and had no other exposure sites or other contact. All of that brings us to the 19 new cases today."

So all linked. 18 to the removalist cluster. 1 to the family cluster that returned from Sydney.

3 of the AFL teams relocated to QLD have apparently now been notified that some players and staff have attended a Tier 1 site in Melbourne.
Essendon’s Andy McGrath attended the Rugby Union in Melbourne and if any of these blokes test positive the whole flight would be forced into 14 days quarantine

I would guess that they would have been tested before flying. Purely my guess though.

NSW authorities can't even do a prescribed list of those things that can open right - what about child care and bottleshops?!?!?!

No change to childcare… and bottle shops are ok (sits in the supermarkets & grocery category). Here’s a more recent update from NSW Health:

Cheers,

I don’t understand why we have to wait 15 hours for what is then outdated information. Why can’t the NSW Government publish the figures first thing in the morning?

Because they want to try and shape the message. Different PR strategy to VIC.

It just dawned on me that by now stopping Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool residents from leaving (for work) unless healthcare or emergency worker, they have essentially canned the asymptomatic testing of Fairfield residents that had to leave for work before it really got in full swing on Monday - I guess a byproduct is they got some non-targetted testing of the region done.

As per rumour, I think hospital workers are already asymptomatic testing, so no change in life for them, perhaps just more regularly - so just other healthcare and emergency workers from the 3 "epicentre" LGAs

So a ring of plastic street dividers along the outer border of Fairfield, Canterbury and Liverpool to the rest of Greater Sydney.

They used to give rolling accounts but were pilloried for the confusion, so went back to once a day. It wouldn't matter what time of day there would still be complaints. Does it make a difference, really? The key message again today was that the numbers were driven by infections 3-5 days ago.

Yet more proof, if we needed it, that zero COVID requires perfect compliance from imperfect creatures.

I post that mostly out of frustration. Throw the book at them.

Not sure if new news - second Melbourne apartment locked down (from news.com.au

A seven-storey apartment building in inner Melbourne has been locked down after a resident tested positive to coronavirus.

The state’s Covid-19 commander Jeroen Weimar confirmed on Saturday the building on Burnley St in Richmond was locked down.

He said all residents in the block’s 23 apartments were told to isolate for two weeks.

“This is a significant challenge for anybody to face when Covid comes knocking at your next door apartment,” Mr Weimar said.

Agree.

The other thing/aspect is that critical or emergency matters have to happen, so hopefully those moving about are at least asymptomatic (and vaccinated)

Oh wow...DIFFERENT set of removalists knew they were positive for COVID but travelled into regional NSW anyway.

They also travelled to Northern NSW.

If ever there was a case of "Name & Shame" then this is it.

If anyone contracts CV along their route then I'm sure a class action lawyer will willing take on the civil case to sue them.

The State Govt needs to make a clear example of these Covidiots, and the sooner the better otherwise the flood gates will open.

Sadly, naming means their families and especially their children are endangered. But the men should be sued to within a $ of their life, possibly jailed, and if they have an actual employer that person should be sued for pretty much everything they own.
