Reported (not yet officially announced) NZ travel bubble will be popped until September.

I can’t believe that the NSW hubs have only just started offering AZ recently. What a missed opportunity.

Gladys now jumping on the AZ bandwagon…

‘go to our hubs, go to our GPS, our pharmacists now have it, my mum and dad have had it - go and get it!’

ATAGI is going to be really sweating now…

It's abundantly clear that the underlying message is we have lost control of the outbreak, and zero is now impossible, and bringing it back under control is more or less impossible without significant extra vaccine resources from the Commonwealth.
Even if you redirect vaccines into the now 5 LGA critical workers, it will be 6 weeks before there is any impact on numbers....3 weeks before there is a 30% impact on the individual avoid hospitalisation or death

WA, TAS, NT should give up all their vaccines and be redirected to NSW and VIC I agree.
This needs to come with conditions. Stricter distance limits, less reasons, curfew. And then Gladys can say they made me do it.

One new case in South Australia

South Australian Premier Steven Marshall is up. He says there was one new COVID-19 case today. He said this was linked to the current cluster and the person was not out in the community while infectious.
The Premier also talked about how he'd committed to increasing capacity at testing stations. He said yesterday was an all-time record for testing in SA, with 23,572 tests returned. Waiting time around 12 hours, which he says is "quite extraordinary".

They seem to be targeting reducing transmission via vaccination amongst young people not so much hospitalisations and death.

What the heck! The CHO gave advice this morning that there might be a threat to other states. This morning!? So only now its a 'national emergency'.

Doubt the Feds will stipulate this. But actually I think all states and territories (except VIC and QLD) should give up their Pfizer for the next month and redirect to NSW.

Good to see AZ being pushed more strongly. Remember that there are a lot of AZ doses available right now.
Dr Chant is now the number 1 fan of AZ.

About time. Massively promoting it.

‘We need to correct the mythology, I can’t understand why people are not going out to get AZ in droves’

‘Anyone under 40 should be considering it, if I was and living in those areas I would get it’

‘and I have had it, my husband has had it, my mother in law has had it, the risk is incredibly low’

Wow….. hope ATAGI is listening…

Finally, I hope other states are pushing it. However I cannot see it happen. Look at what happened to QLD when the Feds suggests the under 60s to take AZ after seeing their GPs.

VIC has been - they’ve done 4 x what NSW has by pumping it through their hubs.

It's a shrewd tactic to encourage and promote;

1) Increased attention on help for NSW at national cabinet
2) Increased focus on ATAGI's continued unchanged advice despite changing circumstances
3) Increased encouragement for people to turn out and decide for themselves about AZ

By no means an exhaustive list, but it's a good move and you can tell by the media response and questioning that it is going to have a big effect on changing the narrative of the outbreak in NSW (shifting it more to a "how do we control" rather than "how do we eliminate").

Gladys just confirmed they gave formally requested:

- Clearer communication on AZ to drive as much use as possible
- Revised health guidelines on AZ
- NSW considering going beyond guidelines on AZ to use up the vaccine!

Wow wow wow. Finally NSW have gone hard.

VIc Presser.

14 cases.
3 out in the community while infectious for 24 hours
1 to be interviewed ( not yet known if out while infectious)

More evidence of SA. People waiting hours (13 hours in many cases) for testing as directed and SAPol have been warning people who have used their mobile phones in the Queue.
