Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

No. Not wrong, sorry. Numerous vaccinated and asymptomatic nursing home patients have been admitted to hospital in NSW to remove them from their aged care facilities.
Yes you are wrong. You stated “many of whom have been moved to isolate” this is false. The number of these nursing home patients is very small and a tiny number of the cohort currently in hospital.
NSW Health does not and has never used the hospital system to preemptively admit Covid-19 cases unlike other jurisdictions (QLD etc).
Parts of the Health response in NSW are currently under significant strain and will continue to be so until this outbreak is curtailed.

I am somewhat sympathetic to your general views regarding how we should approach COVID in Australia going forward, as I find myself agreeing with most of your posts. However I don't think the member you have quoted is to be questioned on this topic.

With that said it is clear to me that NSW Health is doing a pretty fine job in the circumstances. WA's health system would fall over with 50 cases.

5 aged care residents were moved to Hospital at the start of this current outbreak.

Then on Monday this week a further 32 redients from another aged care facility in Summer Hill (a whole floor, 18 of whom were positive) were moved to hospital after an outbreak seeded by a covid positive nurse.

Not sure if there are others, but at least 15% from aged care. Although some of those 18 positives this week may actually need treatment, especially the unvacinated ones.

So we’re arguing over the definition of “many”? You stated “Everyone admitted to hospital with Covid-19 in NSW public hospitals is admitted because they are too sick to be managed by Public Health”. It’s quite clear there are a number of individuals who have been admitted to hospital in NSW purely there to be isolated. I am well aware of this, you have admitted this, yet you have attempted to discredit me.

I’m not having a go at you personally, but the fact that we’re arguing about the definition of terms somewhat proves my point.

I agree. And this is a member who I have a great deal of respect for. However as somebody who has been dealing with this on the front line for the last 18 months, I won’t tolerate being incorrectly quoted.

I am thinking QLD lockdown is about to get more serious!!!!

Press conference at 10am and they are saying going to EB Games is not essential but them someone from EB Games said we sell WFH supplies...

16 new local in Qld.

Again all seem school related except case in Cairns.

Only 2 fully isolated?

51k tests.

Cairns case a Delta case, but is a different Delta source than the SE Cluster.

He is a reef pilot and so may have been from maritime contact.

NSW Health seem to have had a burst of activity on exposure sites...seems like 180+ were added today. It's so many they haven't been able to do their usual tweet that also lists updates...looks like it was too big for a tweet.
A long list, but only 1 close contact exposure site; a fruit shop in Campsie (Canterbury-Bankstown LGA). Just on that, have they ever published anything on the amount of transmission from close contact sites vs casual sites? Would be interesting to see how the ratio looks. Only really possible when all the links are there, too

Cairns case was fully Pfizer'ed in March.

Then according to some research his protection could have dropped to 50% or lower already… Which is why some countries that relied on Pfizer heavily are shortly having to boost… Buy some Pfizer shares ;)

On the source of this ‘new’ outbreak… sigh what’s another outbreak in QLD ;) It seems we have minor outbreak after minor outbreak that fizzles out, I suspect primarily due to not very dense populations mostly (population density that is before someone is mean about our IQ up here!)

I suspect the schools one will be limited too if they can just keep it amongst the kids.

Even with freight ships I don't know if there is a reason for the crew to come ashore or to have interaction with those on the dock doing the loading and unloading?
See. The Qld man in Cairns was one of those pesky ‘pilots’ I mentioned earlier that guide ships into Port.

NSW PRESSER

A man in his 20's has passed away in NSW. :( He was being monitored in-home daily, but suddenly deteriorated and died in his own home. One other person was at home with him, and they have now been hospitalised.

Plus a woman in her 80's.

Both not vaccinated.

NSW concerned about spread within apartment buildings.

The SA case is linked to the Modbury cluster and was isolating.

Yep. From what I heard last night he had tested positive on his day 13 test whilst in isolation at home. The case plus others which I assumed live with him were moved to a Medi Hotel last night. Doesn’t seem too much concern at this stage
