Can someone explain how you do a pub crawl in Melbourne during a lockdown? It's not the first time he's said that, and I don't get how that works.
So you don't want to wear masks and be 1.5m wherever possible when double dosed? When Gladys said this it was the point that I lost it:
"There is a difference between a lockdown and restrictions. We will need to live with restrictions so long as Delta is around. So long as Delta has a presence in the world, even if we had zero cases and we were at 80% double dose, you would still have to respect rules that exist around vaccinations, around social distancing, around mask-wearing, so long as Delta and deadly Covid is around, we will always need to live with a measure of restriction."
No. Just no.

No I don't sorry. Not wanting to sound heartless but something has to give eventually. I'm not speaking about now, but in the future. So you don't want to wear masks and be 1.5m wherever possible when double dosed?
I still worry for the ineligible to be vaccinated children.
People buying take-away, but not actually taking it away and consuming it outside. Then moving to a different take away. Rinse and repeat.
Mask rules now amended that masks cannot be removed outdoors to drink alcohol.
Given the behaviour I saw at a local playground on Saturday I’m not surprised. Barely a mask to be seen, lots of adults catching up and people picnicking in groups.Closing playgrounds seems so unnecessarily cruel to children.
Surely that was against the rules already.
This happened in Bondi, but with coughtails instead (so Bondi!)... I think all of the businesses concerned had to close for 14 days.Yes as I said, they were meant to be buying take away.
No doubt the pub owners were complicit.
I think it was noted Peacock Inn was promoting a "walk, talk and sip".Yes as I said, they were meant to be buying take away.
No doubt the pub owners were complicit too.

More or less agree. I, like almost everyone else, have followed the rules to the best of my ability and capability. Booked and received vaccinations the minute I was regarded as eligible by the Victorian government. Unfortunately it seems like none of the sacrifices we as a people made over the past 18 months have earned anything. Feel like I am pretty much done, as much as I would still like to believe.
I know the above isn't quite true but I am just frustrated now. About to start 3 weeks of annual leave, and I won't even be able to go for my usual late night walk & podcast time. Sigh.
As has been suggested, medicare authorisation (and medical licences) should also be reviewed - but some are just too prominent to get the real whack.Dan did state that they are reviewing liquor licenses etc of the venues involved
