Not just Sydney, but Melbourne too with their daily case numbers closing in on Sydney's. But it is possible that the impact might be quite different given the differences between SYD and SIN considering how much more spread-out we are, less crowded domiciles etc. I doubt any two cities or countries will be all that similar until we are much further down the track, more like late 2022 when how we live with covid becomes a bit more embedded.Interesting report on the current situation in Singapore.

Singapore’s latest move to combat COVID-19 appears to shift away from the country’s stated transition toward living with the virus.www.smh.com.au
I wouldn't be surprised if Sydney found itself in a similar situation come December... Will be interesting to see what happens then.
1007 for NSW.
Only a couple of days till NSW hits 60% DD.
Victorian R value is creeping up again - 1.36 on Chris Bs latest chart - which is suggesting a peak of 1800 around mid-Oct.
Some people in some states are very simple minded people, who consider a holiday down the beach an hour from their home as their preferred annual holidays. Talk of airplanes and oversea's just confuses them as to why anyone would want to leave their local area. State Premiers have to come from somewhere.woman-who-went-to-tokyo-in-a-pandemic-demands-to-know-why-someone-would-want-to-go-to-tokyo-in-a-pandemic/[/URL]
Peak? Both NSW and VIC have not peaked…
NSW has for now.
Yes it will probably go above this when we open up fully, but by then I don't think anyone will be focusing on the case number.
I hope this isn't the case. To be honest, I rely on this thread to keep me up to date on what's happening in the Australian Covid world. For eighteen months it's been an infallible source of information and entertaining comment. If and when the current madness ends hopefully this thread will be preserved for posterity. Rich material for some PhD student in the future! From my observation interest in this thread peaked once NSW started going down.
It's mostly the protests thread now.

Could not agree moreMeh I’d rather it be permanently deleted once we are all (mostly) vaccinated and have better things to argue about like which business suite on the QF A380 is the most private
But until then ...Meh I’d rather it be permanently deleted once we are all (mostly) vaccinated and have better things to argue about like which business suite on the QF A380 is the most private
Might be a pointless argument as I doubt we will see them again!Meh I’d rather it be permanently deleted once we are all (mostly) vaccinated and have better things to argue about like which business suite on the QF A380 is the most private
