Qld Health Minister press conference at 4pm - topic unknown

edit: nothing major

Queensland's health minister is talking about NRL tickets for people who get vaccinated

The TGA has ruled that the Queensland government can't issue tickets to the NRL to people who get their first COVID vaccine, which was part of a push for vaccines ahead of the prelims this weekend, only to people who get their second dose.

But Yvette D'Ath is furious about this and says the TGA needs to "fix it and fix it now".

There's no mention of new cases, no mention of new exposure sites, nothing of any great concern unless you were only going to get vaccinated for your free footy ticket (which you weren't, you were going because you wanted to protect yourself and your community).
Yvette D’Ath also said that the decision was ‘bureaucracy gone mad’. As a minister in the Qld state government she would be an expert in such matters. Just look at how all those medical / compassionate exemption applications were handled. She wasn’t complaining then.

The woman who filmed this said his headphones were knocked to the ground in the throw. Also when he woke up he was asking for his mum.Doesn't sound like a nasty fellow
That Twitter account / person is an out and out anti-vaxxer. All of her feed is filled with the usual content and agenda.

SA Premier talking on radio now, saying he's hopeful of 80% by late November and will open in accordance with the national plan. It's seems the rhetoric is also shifting to Covid being 'the disease of the unvaccinated.'

He did make the good point that WA cannot open up because currently they have no restrictions whatsover and we all know that masks etc are here for the long haul along with social distancing Yada Yada. He would not want to introduce those to WA but without them even with 80% covid would go rogue there.

More on some of the protestors:

Melbourne protester tests positive

A man who attended yesterday's protest has tested positive for COVID-19.
The man is in hospital but not in ICU, health sources have told the ABC.
Reporting by Richard Willingham
Now I am waiting for the allegation that they caught the virus from Covid-19 spray cans used by the police at the protest site  😞 😞 😞 😞

Doesn't mean she is an unreliable eye witness.I watched the video again.Nothing certain but the object picked up by the officer looked more like headphones than a knife.
I agree. Pretty certain it wasn't an AK47 anyway.

It doesn’t mean she is either.
Her Twitter content is clearly aimed at supporting her views and pushing her anti-Vax agenda.
I am referring to her account of what was said by the person, not the short video clip posted.

Practically every unverified Account on Twitter has some sort of agenda and bias.
This is yet another.

As do plenty of verified ones. It's what happens in places where people express opinions....

Victoria seems to be holding steady for now in the 700 range. The challenge will be when it leaks further out of Hume.

Will it? The vaccine numbers in VIC are soaring, it’s fantastic.

Yes the un-vaxxed / anti vaxxers probably have something to be challenged about I guess!

The modelling predictions/reports seem spot on, is my analysis. And they say all areas evenly vaccinated - which is honest, but a flaw. But some premiers(QLD) have said 80% will mean different things , meaning they intend to tear up national cabinet agreements, after they took all that relief and sit-down money, and planning to get more handouts.

The vaccine surge in NSW saved 250+ lives seems corrrect, and Victoria, much the same. It seems a number of vaccinated deaths was needed to convince ignorant communities to get jabbed. So now a noisy segment of ignorant builders are in the limelight.

Yet I see no time is running out commercials on the TV. These will save lives.

There are two objects.

The first that fell straight down to the right and was picked up by the officer to the right (he did not tackle the person but walked over and picked up the object) is flattish. So the question is what is this object on the right
See object circled below in green and then red as it is picked up.

The second object that came off as he he hit the floor off to the left in the direction he was slung and that looks very much like headphones.

See object circled in yellow below.

So the question remains as to what the object on the right is.

MY Huge assumption. (Edited as it was confusing) People walking around with headphones unlikely to carry an offensive weapon? If it was a knife and the person had been controlled I'd have expected the police would not have picked it up in bare hands as that contaminates the evidence.

I would not have my hands tucked in my high vis if I was standing in front of someone with a weapon of any kind.

Not now, and not when I worked security in a train station either. The officer is either the coolest of customers, or that's not a knife.

As a Met Police officer once told me at work in London "If you fight someone who has a gun, you might get shot. If you fight someone with a knife, you will get cut."

Huge assumption.

What is a huge assumption?

I was just indicating there were two objects that fell.

I have said that one clearly looks like headphones (which it does), and that he other is flattish object that as as per my first post could be a mobile phone, or could be a knife and from the video that I have no idea as to what it exactly is. So I am assuming little.

Observation - not a single report of the virus spread posted here today.

Might be time to retire the thread?
I am reminded of when both Wayne Swan and Josh Frydenberg brought down budgets and announced a surplus had been delivered. Well not quite and JF actually delivered the largest deficit in history.

So let’s not jinx it.

Not yours - mine 🙂. That people using headphones wouldn't be carrying an offensive weapon.
