Staff at Cohealth 'frustrated and upset' by abuse that led to closures
A community health organisation in Melbourne says its staff are upset after employees were spat on and abused by protestors yesterday, forcing two vaccination clinics in the CBD to close.
The Cohealth staff also had liquid hurled at them and were heckled on their way to work as protestors swarmed the city.
Vaccine clinics at Town Hall and Queen Victoria Market have shut for at least four days for safety reasons.
Cohealth's chief executive Nicole Bartholomeusz says healthcare staff deserve to be safe at work.
"Staff are both frustrated and upset, we've been all working hard during this pandemic to protect and support people, to deal with this extra layer of stress is just not necessary," she says.
