Very weird, as 101% vaccination is not possible.
Tell that to Gibraltar 117%

it is surprising there are no anti-vaxers.
Not surprising because the microeconomy depends on:

1) tourism and cruise ships
2) welfare from the UK

Both have considerable leverage re CovidVax but more likely 1) has most leverage. No cruise chip will come to PN if population unvaccinated. Alternatively the island has been Covid free. Any covid brought in ships would be disastrous. So there are several reason why they have been vaccinated.

Its all about how you do the accounting

Basically the estimated population of a jurisdiction eligible for CovidVax is X
So number of 1st Jabs and 2nd jabs can be expressed as a % of X

If the actual number of either 1Jab or 2Jab is more than X then the % can be greater than 100%

So Gibraltar just jabbed 17% more people than they thought they had.
Likely visitors from the Spain walking across?

In good news "Following further investigation, nine previously reported deaths have been excluded." from NSW stats.

Because there is no checking wrt if you have already been jabbed if you go to a pharmac_ there are plenty who got AZ at a hub or gp originally now going to the chemist to get Moderna. Many people have had more than 2 doses, whether they were entitled to or not, and now 3rd doses are allowed for oldies for certain cohorts this will continue to skew numbers, unless they accurately start reporting 3/4 shots separately form 2nd shots.

This is just news that covid officially did not contribute to or cause those deaths.

Which is important as the rates of hospitalizations and deaths is what keeps restrictions in place. Those dying with covid as opposed to from covid are generally very elderly with significant comorbidities or in palliative care so its important not to unfairly attribute their deaths to covid when they would have died anyway.

it is a sign of the insanity of Australia’s covid mindset. Would any other jurisdiction in the world have the resources to debate and backdate if someone died of or with covid? And then go on to publish it because people are historical enough to care? Yet despite this ability, our hospitals are supposedly overrun 🙄.

AIHW is as much an institution as the hospitals. They have a passion for accuracy which is supported by the state health systems.

That's interesting. So that mucking about with a computer when you go to get a jab doesn't show what you've had previously? Only yesterday, I spoke to someone who was planning on adding a Moderna to their 2 AZs.

Indeed.. but it is a personal risk calculation , especially for us early vaccinated oldies
We plan to wait "patiently" for the GP to advise us a booster is available.
With little Covid about in Qld and living a somewhat monastic lifestyle.. the wait to be kosher seems a fair gamble.
If we have a serious outbreak the game changes

State Hubs and GPs can see your immunisation record so can check, Pharmacies can only submit the data to medicare not view your vaccination history. They can check if you've had a first shot at one of their stores (which is in their booking system), but not what you have had elsewhere.

A family friend who is in her 70s has RA and takes an ongoing low dose of Chemo. She has been fully vaxed for months with AZ but her GP said she needs to have a 3rd dose of preferably mrna vaccine, not calling it a booster as Australia has no tweaked vaccines yet just original formula. GP could only book for Pfizer as Moderna is only available pharmacies, but she has decided may as well go the pharmac_ route and get both doses of Moderna.

However, bad news for the NSW regions today, the restrictions preventing travel from Regional NSW to Greater Sydney and Greater Sydney to The Regions will remain in place until Nov 1, despite other 80% freedoms comin into play on Monday and international travel opening form 1 November.

This is because some regional areas still around the 50% vaccination mark, where most of Sydney suburbs are in 80s already.

Not necessarily
Several of my friends in a regional town are quite happy for the "fortress wall" to remain up a bit longer. Sure not a large sample size but they reckon that most people there think that its reasonable to wait.

They also think that it is the city Slickers who are itching to go to the regions rather than the other way round and it is the city who brings the Covid. A bit of parochialism does exists.
