Oh god can we just stop the NSW v VIC who did something faster / slower / better / worse screeching it was such a nice break from the usual suspects…

Good grief. I haven't been here for a month or so - this stuff still going on? 🤦‍♀️ Time to retire again ...

Actually it had completely stopped until a usual suspect rocked up again and started the screeching! Pity!

Per capita numbes in ACT also worse than NSW which makes in amusing that NSW remains locked out of ACT given likelihood of getting covid in ACT is greater than in NSW. And both have great vax numbers.

The numbers are the numbers, seems some here are very bitter about the sucesses in NSW, cant be happy for the great outcomes here. Jealousy pure and simple.

The sucesses in limiting the spread and driving down adverse health impacts have been hard won.

If you dont want to hear about the numbers which is what this thread is for (not for making excuses for not vaccinating) then dont participate in the thread.

If someone reads a vaccination vs lockdown argument as NSW vs VIC, then that's on them. It should be taken as good news for all.

Its unacceptable to call someone a dog, disgusting in fact.

I obseved todays great reductions of hospitalisation, ICU and ventilation numbers, that is neither old information nor irrelevant to current spread.

Those who are jealous want to see an argument on state rivalry, rather than just acknowledge the great progress made in NSW which is only going to help everyone.

There are two regular posters who like to write short essays. Was so good when the retired from the field of battle for a while, but think it is my turn to retire now.
I think I shall join you @OATEK - looks like I was taken to task - hence my anticipatory disclaimer - even though a simple fact check would confirm validity of the observation

Has anyone read or heard anything about the ability to add a digital covid certificate in check in app for a dependent? My Dad checks my Mum in at venues as a dependent as my Mum doesnt have a mobile (and isnt capable of using one). Has been taking her printed certificate whereas Dads cert is in the app, would great to link both in app.

I don’t think that’s possible as the App would only have a one time transfer of the certificate from the website / Medicare App.

Can he download the digital certificate for her on his phone and add it to Apple Wallet ? Then just flick between screens.
That is what I had been doing before the integration was set up

Yeah when I finally get to see them tomorrow, I will add a google wallet to his phone and add both digital certificates as a back-up.

There was talk of service nsw planning to issue cards (like a platic license) to oldies without phones that would have a QR code that venues could scan to verify identity and vax status in one transaction. But then all went quiet.

At the hairdressers this morning an elderly lady came in with printed immunisation record from her GP, not the Covid-19 certifiate (or even the official immunisatoion record from medicare), hairdresser said if the cops came checking she would have to leave as it wasnt an official certificate. I told her to go to medicare who can print the official one if she didnt have a child or grandchild who could print it for her. Surpised the GP didnt just help her print official cert.

Nominating which state would make it easier to answer.

In Victoria it cannot be done at the moment.

I found the Vic app quite flakey when doing the attachment. Said it was linked but didn’t show up until I had run through the cycle several times.

Passing over the fact NSW can't declare a national state of emergency...

If you actually remember the context of these comments, they were a descriptor not a declaration (I believe it was Kerry Chant who said the comments, and Gladys quoted her at National Cabinet). -It was when she asked for more Pfizer to help control the outbreak in Sydney. Leaving it unchecked would lead to spread in other states.

And look what happened.

NSW, but the process of linking is the same in both the NSW and Vic, as the API to pull the record is a federal one.
