Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

I get the feeling that bar WA and Tasmania, all States are at risk now.

In SA we had yesterday a woman who is a close contact of an isolated positive case, who attended two adult style campus, having been infectious at the time and she as close contact is now positive. How, as a close contact of a positive (returned traveller) case, she was allowed to roam without being tested, beggars belief. I'm not sure if SA Health are truly worried and using it as a threat, but if they were worried then why in heck are they allowing a crowd of I think, of 20,000 people, some of whom quite possibly, attended the colleges, to come to the football tonight?
Nothing concrete yet but work has been given notice that possible border restrictions may be tightened further. The government haven’t ruled out commencing rapid tests at the border for everyone including truck drivers and similar at the airport. Too many loopholes currently where the onus is on the individual to go and get tested rather than it being a requirement to enter the state

There were a lot of young couples at the supermarket in Victoria this morning - I'd reckon about two thirds of the people in there were couples. In that scenario, the restrictions would cut the number of people in shops by quite a bit. It might also reduce ancillary 'couples activity'... going out for a shop and having a coffee at the same time, etc.

We've been taking turns to do the shopping since March; one of us goes and the other stays home with the toddler. She only comes along if the other person is working and can't be left alone. Why others havent been doing that they whole time is beyond me.

Which border are you referring to?

Thats our thoughts too. Its not hard to test at the border - that was supposed to be mandatory but again the excuses for the 15 year old given yesterday were pathetic. No wonder people say stuff it.

South Australia and likely Eastern States. Currently no restrictions in from Qld and self iso from NSW.

Reporting on radio SA may have a short blast of increased restrictions. General.

If the National goal of zero community transmission was ‘really’ real, this probably wouldn’t be happening.... I wonder if we are just being fed a National Cabinet PR line...

Thanks. Any word on Qld and SA?
The government is still advising to only go if essential but at this stage our work is still sending staff to Brisbane but that could change any minute. The government set to have a transition meeting tomorrow but some small restrictions may be enacted beforehand depending on SA Health and SAPOL recommendations

Another Sydney church hit with two confirmed virus cases

A church in Sydney's inner west has been linked to two COVID-19 cases after a couple who attended mass last weekend tested positive for the virus.

St Brigid's Church in Marrickville notified attendees last night that a man and a woman who attended the Vigil Mass on July 25 were confirmed as having coronavirus.

We have taken this approach although we have no toddlers to worry about as the cygnets are all adults. I am now the official 'designated shopper' in our household for regular food shopping.

Hubby went to his Chiro this morning, he wears a mask.

When he goes to the foyer to pay his account, theres a woman in there telling the receptionist that she has the flu but been tested and shes ok... but she has the flu. No mask, still sick, just out and about doing her usual routine. The Chiro (also wearing a mask) gives her a mask and tells her to go wait outside, she keeps insisting shes fine, "its just the flu", she wont wear a mask so Chiro tells her politely her appointment is cancelled. Hubby didnt stick around for the outcome but he said she was working herself up to a tantrum.

Love that we've reached the point where the flu is "just" 🤦‍♀️
Last year I had a coworker sent home twice in 2 days because I heard him say to a cubicle buddy, "I wont get too close to you as I have the flu" and when I spoke to his manager, I was told it was "just the flu". Still got him sent home both days and enjoyed telling him in March that this is why sick people should stay home. As I tell people now, I was spraying people away with Glen20 before it was cool.

Did he catch her name? Karen?
I was thinking of saying she was going Karen but I have two friends named Karen so trying not to use the term too much.

Zero cases in QLD and great that all residents of the Bolton Clarke Fairview aged care facility have now tested negative
It would be very interesting to know if the samples done on the sewerage system support the idea of zero cases. I get the impression that very low levels of this virus can be around for quite some time. Apparently samples show evidence in Italy months before it supposedly arrived.

… I am amazed how many people only refer to the Army when referring to military personnel, there are three services, Navy, Army and Air Force ….
Yes. Maybe some think that it's more "butch" to say Army, rather than the ADF. 🤭
