Just a bad week anticipating overseas departures this time next week. Covid madness. This too shall pass. But as far as 'me' time - it is for the first time forever - that MrP hasn't been travelling at all. Lots of adjustments. And I'm so sick of cooking dinners! WA was happy to accept nephew today from SA spending 3 months doing their border control stuff.

And I am certainly not going to reward bad behaviour by going to Queensland and spending money when they reopen.

As a platinum with VA solely from domestic travel, all of which is leisure spend, I am certainly exercising my choice to support states that are reasonable and sensible in their approach.

One medical professional that I see, her husband is normally away for large blocks of time and she is not coping at all having him home all the time.

She was complaining that she had to have the kids at football at 8am on Saturday and I said can't your husband take them and she said no she didn't want him to feel that he was needed - pretty sad

There may be more of that going on than we realise.

A spouse, and parent, who is normally never there, suddenly, is now always there. Who is this person? The kids and spouse never really knew that person in recent years due to all of the absences. And now that stranger is always hanging around and getting in the way of the regular family routine. Sad, I realise.

I've a couple of friends that constantly cough about their husbands and they bicker in front of me and I get really annoyed. If it's that bad then go and I don't want to hear you snarking at each other

Well, in cases where the other-half will often be in gaol, that’s what probably keeps the relationship going. .

Appearing on ABC's 7.30, Dr Omar Khorshid said despite trials being in progress, the chance of one being released and available in 2021 was unlikely.

"It's really important that we are realistic about the time it takes to get a vaccination through all of the many production issues," Khorshid said.

"The reality is it is going to take many, many more months, and we wouldn't be surprised if it's even not next year [for a vaccine]."

Back on Virus Spread.

As there have been a few different issues I thought that it was posting the Vic DHHS Report in full today , plus have I looked back for Frankston cases as a Franskton household cluster has been linked to the new Chadstone Butcher Club Cluster.

.

Of note it would seem that while the staff member was working on the days of 23-26 Sept, that the first household link may have had a positive test result returned on the 23rd, and a second on the 25th, and then 5 on the 27th, but ceasing work before the batch of 5 . Now I say may as the two first cases may not be from the Frankston Household cluster. But if so then someone may have been working when they should have been isolating.

Victoria has recorded 15 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, with the total number of cases now at 20,183.
The overall total has increased by 14 due to one case being reclassified.

Seven of today’s 15 new cases have been linked to known outbreaks or complex cases. Three are linked to aged care (Bupa Edithvale, TLC Noble Manor in Noble Park and Opal Hobsons Bay in Altona North) and four are linked to the Butcher Club at Chadstone Shopping Centre. The other eight cases remain under investigation.

Of today’s 15 new cases, there are five cases in Casey, two cases in Greater Dandenong, Maribyrnong and Monash and single cases in Boroondara, Glen Eira, Wyndham and Yarra.

My Comment: The Franskton Household cluster of about 8 (I think that was how it was quoted) was mentioned today, but the LGA of Frankston does not feature today nor in the reporting for the last two days See just below). 5 cases occurred back on 27 Sept and 1 on 23rd and 25th..

From the 30th Sept: Of today’s 13 new cases, there are three cases in Melton, two cases in Monash, Moonee Valley and Stonnington and single cases in Boroondara, Greater Dandenong, Kingston and Whitehorse.​

From the 29th: Of today’s 10 new cases, there are two cases in Casey, Monash and Moreland and single cases in Hobsons Bay, Knox, Moonee Valley and Wyndham.​

There have been two new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday. One woman aged in her 70s and one woman in her 90s. One death occurred prior to yesterday.

Both of today’s deaths are linked to known aged care facility outbreaks. To date, 800 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.

The average number of cases diagnosed in the last 14 days for metropolitan Melbourne is 15.6 and regional Victoria is 0.3. The rolling daily average case number is calculated by averaging out the number of new cases over the past 14 days.

The total number of cases from an unknown source in the last 14 days is 19 for metropolitan Melbourne and zero for regional Victoria. The 14-day period for the source of acquisition data ends 48 hours earlier than the 14-day period used to calculate the new case average due to the time required to fully investigate a case and assign its mode of acquisition.

In Victoria at the current time:

• 4273 cases may indicate community transmission – an increase of one since yesterday
• 289 cases are currently active in Victoria
• 38 cases of coronavirus are in hospital, including six in intensive care
• 19,034 people have recovered from the virus
• A total of 2,709,668 test results have been received which is an increase of 14,709 since yesterday.

Of the 289 current active cases in Victoria:

• 286 are in metropolitan Melbourne under the Second Step of our roadmap
• 3 are in regional local government areas under the Third Step of our roadmap
• 0 are interstate residents
• 0 are either unknown or subject to further investigation
• Colac Otway has one active case and Greater Geelong, Greater Bendigo and Ballarat have no active cases.

Of the total cases:

• 18,791 cases are from metropolitan Melbourne, while 1192 are from regional Victoria
