For those in Melbourne that want to easily find all BBQs and Playgrounds within 25 km of home.

Note that did not work in Chrome for myself on first use, but then did when I clicked on the link embeded here.

Edge had no issues.

Though if one lives in Portsea one's options are very limited due the water and where the Melbourne Metro Boundary is . Note cannot take the ferry to Queenscliff as that would be outside the Melbourne Metro area.

4 cases today in Vic.

Comments by Sutton:

One case is a person who tested positive back in July.
So possibly old virus. May be a false positive. May be a re-infection, but less likely. Will be investigation and if the first two the case will come off the totals. So cases today is probably 3 and not 4.

Other 3 cases from one household. All in quarantine (isolating at home) when tested and all linked to known cases.

Any mention of what happened to the case in the Kilmore bakery that was raised late in the presser yesterday?

If you live in Portsea, you'll probably have someone who can bring a marquee and BBQ to your mansion... :p

I think our SA State Government wins the stupid award for the NZ travellers. They have popped them into Medi Hotels for 14 days. They have been deemed International Travellers because SA is not part of the Bubble but agree they have legally entered SA. Where is the "bang head on table" emoji?

Not that I recall.

Maybe so, but if not outside your property you cannot have the higher gathering limit, and would have to stick to the in home limit.

No "Mansion" exemption. Lindsay Fox (A billionaire for those unaware) might be regretting annexing the public beach now.... ;)

And they wanted to be next cab off the rank to get international flights from NZ.

This indicates to me that behind the scenes SA might have some concerns with the initial NZ quarantine-free proposal.

The trouble we have is that the Premier only likes to deliver the good news stories and sometimes runs with what he wants to do but he has handed over control to Health and the Police. And they over rule him. Both of these entities want to keep everyone as limited as they think they can get away with. Unless of course, it's about the footy.

To be fair to SA, QLD and WA, they all ask if the person has been overseas in the last 14 days as part of their border passes. I don't buy the headlines such as "snuck into Perth". It was reported they had G2G passes (otherwise they would have been sent back to Sydney).

This whole thing is ridiculous and I can't believe how much air time it's been getting.

Federal government should have just said Kiwis don't need to quarantine. End of. States don't get a vote.

Of course, easier said than done since Federal government doesn’t administer most covid-related international quarantine (which is a whole other story) and doesn’t administer State border restriction (another whole other story)

Yep, and all the Dan Andrews apologists were quick to say that international quarantine is a commonwealth responsibility once it all fell into a heap (which it is - it was just agreed to let the states run it. The fact that people have to quarantine is a federal requirement though - the states do not have the power to waive that)

A 'sheep ship' that was moved from Geraldton to Fremantle after a crewmember tested positive has now had another 24 crew test positive. There are a total of 52 crew on board. The problem on other ships recently seems to have been with the quarantine processes in the Philippines. The crew are supposed to isolate for 14 days before joining a ship. Notably, officers are apparently allowed to isolate at their homes.

When I used to process these ships in my past life the crew always seemed to live in pretty poor conditions so this sort of thing certainly doesn't surprise me.

Apparently in Thailand, Phils and Other SE, US Military personnel do not have to isolate either, spreading new outbreaks. In that part of the world, isolate has another meaning, and perhaps not apply to house maids or helpers. But note, positive does not mean what it did, and the crew could still crew with negligible risk if under 50yo. Time for a Borody treatment. I suppose WA is not giving out Trump like free treatments to all.

Ok, update now available just for you ;)

A testing centre has been established in Kilmore following yesterday’s announcement of a recent case reported in a staff member at Kemp’s Bakery in Kilmore.

The staff member lives in metropolitan Melbourne and worked at the bakery between 1 October and 11 October. Investigations have now established this case worked while infectious on 8 and 9 October - these were night shifts when the bakery was not open to the public.

Kemp’s Bakery in Kilmore and Wandong have been closed for cleaning. All staff have been tested and are negative and those identified as close contacts of the staff member will quarantine for 14 days.

Anyone in Kilmore or Wandong should get tested if they have any symptoms, however mild and isolate until they receive their results. Testing is available at the Kilmore District Hospital from 10am to 5pm today and from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday.

The medical costs for the crew are carried by the shipping company via the local agent. (They were for the 30 odd years I was around shipping anyway.) I am sure that all fees will be passed on.

Well, Trump got his treatment on compassionate grounds, the exception granted in record time(Who you are really does matter). The agent should go for a Borody treatment on compassionate grounds too.

Lot of pressure on the Victorian government to open up more quickly than they are, from the usual suspects. Some erroneously point to to Vic having 108 cases in last 14 days, and NSW 105, conveniently ignoring the 55 overseas acquired cases in NSW (in hotel quarantine) and 18 mystery/under investigation cases in Vic vs 6 mystery (0 under inv) in NSW. Good summary here:

From the article's graphic it is pretty clear the the two states are in different positions at present. However in another fortnight Vic should be in a very good position.
